🎧DJ Profile - Rob Sydney
Initiated into the raving vortex in London during the legendary 1991 ‘Summer of Love’, Rob Sydney has been happily hooked ever since. Raised on the earth-shaking sound systems of Ministry of Sound and Fabric, with a healthy dose of Ibiza magic thrown in, his love affair with electronic music runs deep. Inspired by sonic storytellers like Sasha, John Digweed and Nick Warren, Rob learned early that a great set isn’t just played - it’s journeyed.
From promoting parties in South London to fine-tuning his craft in bedrooms (as all good DJs do), Rob eventually found his groove again in the lush electronica playground of the Northern Rivers. A passionate mixmaster of deep, melodic house and techno, though never one to be boxed in, he follows one rule only: if it feels good, it goes in the mix.
He’s lit up dance floors across the region as resident and curator of Balcony Beats at The Middle Pub, and has played everywhere from Mystic Valley and Sunday Sesh at Trawlers to Sunday KiCKs, Nudge Nudge Wink Wink, Lab Leaked Beats, Praxis, Wandana Brewery, Casa Luna and of course, our beloved Lotus Fundraisers.
