In the high Andes of Peru, where the air is thin and the sky feels close enough to touch, the mountains are not just landforms… they are living beings.
The Apus — sacred mountain spirits — are revered as ancient guardians, protectors, and wise elders who watch over the people, the animals, and the land.
For the Andean people, especially the Q’ero and Quechua communities, each mountain carries its own spirit, its own personality, its own medicine. Some Apus are gentle and nurturing, others powerful and fierce — but all are deeply protective.
They are seen as:
✨ Keepers of ancient wisdom
✨ Guardians of the natural world
✨ Bridges between Earth and the cosmos
One of the most revered Apus is Ausangate — a majestic, snow-capped being whose presence is felt far beyond what the eyes can see.
To connect with the Apus is to remember that we are not separate from nature…
We are in relationship with it.
Through sacred offerings, known as despachos, prayers are carried to the mountains — woven with intention, gratitude, and reciprocity. The Apus receive these offerings and, in return, offer protection, guidance, and energetic support.
There is a deep humility in this way of living.
A remembering that we are held.
When you stand before a mountain — whether in Peru or anywhere in the world — you are standing before something ancient, something alive, something that has witnessed generations before you.
Pause.
Listen.
Feel.
The mountains speak… not in words, but in presence.
And if you open your heart, you may just hear their whisper:
You are supported.
You are guided.
You belong.
Would you like to join us in Peru this year in Sept ? ❤️🤗
I’m here to support you on this magical journey of remembering who you really are, deeply loving and honouring yourself and manifesting your wildest dreams. Don’t hesitate to reach out.
With all my love,
Soph
