What are you afraid of losing? Because this will shape every single decision you make, every choice, every thing you do and don't do will be affected by what you are afraid to lose. Until you let go. Completely let go and know you can lose something you love and still be okay at the end of it.

I feel like this is the epitome of Life. Love and be loved. Love with a pure, open heart and wild abandon. Love and let go. Let go and keep moving. Trust that what is yours will always be with you.

We are always on our own journey and at the end of the day, we must meet ourselves. We must look in the mirror, raw and open and honest, and accept everything that we are. I've met so many parts of myself and am still learning, growing and diving deeper. Still letting go. Feeling everything. Acknowledging and accepting all the aspects of who I am. And knowing, deeper and deeper, that I'll be okay at the end of it all, because life and love never end.

Friends, family and loved ones may move in and out of your life, but you will always be loved by the entire Universe. Remember that ❀️

If you’re tuned into your digestion at all, you may have noticed it has been more sensitive than usual over the last few weeks. This may have presented itself as a changeable appetite, an increase in gas, bloating or pain after eating and maybe even a little dry constipation.

But why? The change of seasons usually wrecks havoc with our digestion and the transition from Summer to Autumn is the most aggravating of all.

Autumn is a time when the Ether and Air elements in our body naturally increase due to their increased quality in the environment. This is a reflection of the Ayurvedic teaching of Like Increases Like - when we are exposed to certain qualities in the environment, our food and other sensory impressions, these same qualities are increased in our body and mind.

In Ayurveda, it's understood that Ether (or Space) and Air exist as a united force in the body, referred to as Vata. Vata is one of three doshas or functional intelligences in the body; the other two being Pitta (Fire/Water) and Kapha (Earth/Water). Vata is responsible for all movement and communication in the body so is deeply involved in the functioning of our nervous, endocrine and excretory systems. Its principle qualities are those of Air moving through Space - COLD, DRY, ROUGH, LIGHT, MOBILE and IRREGULAR.

Any change of season aggravates Vata but as we move from a warmer time of year to the first hints of cold Winter nights with windy days and variable temperatures, Vata escalates more than ever.

How have you been experiencing the turn of the seasons in your body? Do you feel Vata has increased?

This is one of my absolute favourite things in life right now βœ¨οΈπŸ’• I signed up to a Yoga Teacher Training course at the start of this year and had no idea how much, and in how many ways this journey would change me. We are almost halfway through and already I feel like this is my second home and that these beautiful souls are my second family. So happy to be on the land, learning Vedic wisdom from the Krishnamarcharya Lineage. Thankyou to every single person who has shown up, wherever they are at, and jumped into the space wholeheartedly. Thankyou to my teachers and to the incredible for making this dream possible πŸ₯°βœ¨οΈπŸ™

When you wake up with gratitude, every day is magical βœ¨οΈπŸ’•

Sometimes it's the little things - a sunrise, a kind smiles, the feeling of sand between your toes.

The more you slow down and take it all in, the more magic you'll find in the world around you ❀️

The process of creating kizzi bolus is part of the treatment. The oils, herbs, medicines and care that goes into creating these little packages means that you get a whole lot more than just a massage.

This is Ayurveda. This is where every ingredients is intentionally and specifically chosen due to it's medicinal properties and the effect on the body & mind. It takes on a whole new level of the appreciation for this ancient science and these powerful methods of healing.

I'm so excited for our upcoming Ayurvedic Wellness Retreat in November when I can experience this again ❀️ Who's coming with me?

Comment "RENEW" below and I will send you more info πŸ™ŒπŸ™

I always get questions about the food provided on the Ayurvedic retreats.

"If we're doing a traditional Ayurvedic Panchkarma, does that mean we eat rice, dahl and kitchari the whole time?"

No way! Although Ayurveda is typically known for kitchari, a light and balanced meal, there is so much more to Ayurvedic meals!

At the retreat centre, our local chef prepares each dish with care and attention. Locally sourced ingredients, spices and ghee are used when preparing each dish. Every bite is delicious!

This is one of my favourites - moringa leaves with spices. Very simple but so tasty!

I've evacuated my home and am bunking down with family until all of this is over. The weather forecast is unpredictable and we've been in "prepare to evacuate" orange alert the whole time. Things have been tough over the last few days as I'm sure it has been for many.

Sending love, prayers and blessings to all those who have been affected by Cyclone Alfred πŸŒ€ πŸ™

One of the best things in my life is being able to call this place home, to have grown up here in the Bay πŸ‹πŸŒŠ It has impacted my life in so many ways and has shaped the person I am today.

I often think how much our environment affects us as humans. Who would we be if we grew up in a city? In the middle of the forest? In snow? In the mountains? The typical argument of nature vs nurture will always be such a valid point of contention, but I know for a fact that the more salt water you have in your life, the better it will be πŸ˜…

Of course, I'm a surfer so I'll always say that 🀭 But I'm curious. What's your happy place? Is it hiking through the forest, long beach walks, waterfall adventures, in the yoga studio on your mat?

Let's bring these little pieces of happiness into our everyday life ❀️

The food over here is so good! Every day we have something different, from dosa, idlis, red rice, okra, moringa, green beans, chapatis, coconut chutney, dahl, vegetarian curry, soups, fruit platters, local delicacies and so much more. The taste & quality of the food here is incredible ~ local produce cooked fresh every meal. I had the pleasure of meeting the talented cook behind the meals here at the retreat centre and learnt a new recipe! Yum!

There are so many things we could have done, things we wished we did differently. Regret doesn't serve us, it doesn't help us move forward in the direction we want to create. This is coming from someone who used to drown in an avalanche of regrets πŸ€ͺ

It's taken alot of internal work but now I can let the past go without the heaviness of regret, guilt, shame and beating myself up about things. Every mistake was a learning, an opportunity for growth and refinements. I realised that if I was always perfect, I would exist within a very small bubble without actually experiencing the world outside me, as it is.

Mistakes are simply learning opportunities and shows that we had the courage to attempt the unknown and be open to Life itself. Of course, if we make mistakes with the people we love and care about, we can always say sorry and fix things. But there's no point beating yourself up about it.

That's powerful πŸ™ 🀲

Why Am I Into Ayurveda?

Hey, I'm Jasmine. Most of you know me already through yoga, surf, Ayurvedic, martial arts or meditation circles. A few of you know me from some secret groups which I don't have permission to mention here... Why did I start Ayurveda? Six years ago, I started a journey of health and wellness. I wanted to be able to support my body and have the energy to engage in my active lifestyle. I knew that diet was very important to maintaining optimal efficiency of the body. What I ate every day had an impact not only on my physical health but also my mental and emotional balance. I went through a process of trying out different diets and became vegan, vegetarian, paleo, fruitarian and even tried breath-arian (only for 24hrs!) All of these diets were well documented - what to eat, how to eat it and where to go next. The problem was, none of them sustained me. I was going through school leading up to my final exams, I was running the Byron lighthouse track in the afternoons, playing soccer and surfing. I also hung out with my friends and maintained an active social life. And then I came across Ayurveda. The principles of diet and lifestyle were amazing - clear, logical steps of exactly how to support my body's wellness. Specific to me and my genetic and physical makeup (Vata, Pitta, Kapha if you know the Ayurvedic lingo). It worked!! I felt strong, powerful and balanced. I had enough energy to maintain my active lifestyle and also was grounded enough to start to stop, breathe and slow down in between the busyness. I'd found it!! When I finished my exams, I left for India. I went travelling around South-East Asia for the next year - through Malaysia, Sri Lanka and then finishing my trip in India. Maybe it was the young-and-dumb approach, but I threw caution to the wind and ate and drank all the food I could get my hands on - all the street food and the goodies I could find. I loved the Indian food!! I lived with local Indian families and cooked and ate with them. When I returned home, I had a parasite in my gut. I was bloated and constantly tired. I had no energy. I didn't want to eat and wasn't interested in food. My skin started becoming blotchy and a rash appeared across my face - I never wear makeup but I had to start trying to cover up the red, scaly skin that started to appear across my jaw. I tried multiple healing sessions and herbs and diet changes. Nothing worked. I was in agony!! I didn't want to see my friends because I had no energy to do anything, and I didn't want to go outside because my face had an angry rash across it. It was big for my self esteem and I felt rejected and lonely. And then I came back to Ayurveda. I went and saw an Ayurvedic practitioner and he gave me Ayurvedic herbal preparations to take and diet guidelines to follow. It was a miracle! In a few short weeks, the parasite was gone from my gut and I was rebuilding my health. I felt stronger, better and wanted to engage in my world again. I was back in my element, back to the happy me πŸ“·:) I wanted to share this healing and proven methods for health and wellness. If Ayurveda could heal me entirely, this could be the answer for other people as well. So I found a course, enrolled and began the Advanced Diploma of Ayurveda through AIAS Institute. Three years later, I graduated at top of my class. Now, I am here to share it with you. I want to be part of the healing journey for you. I want to be that person who supports you through whatever you are going through - to be the best version of yourself. To wake up in the morning with energy. To be strong and fit. To maintain an active lifestyle and engage with your world in the most powerful way. That's why I'm here. If you want to see me for a consultation, send me a message now. I'd love to work with you!
