I am currently feeling so much gratitude for all of the teachers that I have in my life. As I finished the sixth and final instalment of Exploring the Vedas over the weekend I came to realise just how fortunate I am for these increadible teachings and the people who have conspired for them to come into my life. I’m very excited to be sharing my brand new 25hr Yoga Anatomy Course at Byron Yoga Centre in March 2021.
Two focus areas of the four day course will be to look into common shoulder and knee injuries yoga students face and how we can avoid these as students and as teachers. We then build on this knowledge to create classes that are safe and strong for all levels. 💪🏼😁

I’ve been feeling a bit flat lately... Irritated about things that are out of my control. Trying desperately to control the small things even more. To make me feel as if I matter. As if my actions make a difference.
That has been the hardest thing about isolation for me. Not having the ability to share my skills with people in person and feel the tangible sense of connection that this brings. The feeing that’s what I do on a daily basis matters.
It’s a challenge that is not going away anytime soon. So I will continue to teach free yoga classes each week. To remind myself of how good it feels to give freely. And if you enjoy practicing with me then we are both happy 😊

Home practice. Whether we are in isolation or not I can find it tough to stay motivated to practice solo. Thanks to Rona we have some beautiful teachers sharing their gifts now for FREE to keep you inspired while at home on the mat.

Here are three gluteus medius strengthening exercises I use to ramp up my yoga practice and protect my knees when running.

Perfect as a pre yoga / run warm up to get those glutes firing and ready for action. Anyone with back or knee pain this is for you!

1. Hip hitch - 8x right and left
2. Chair squeeze - 8 breaths
3. Lunge step - 8x right and left

Repeat 4/6/8 times depending on how strong you’re feeling! Enjoy 💪🏼😅
