This is a natural protein smoothie and is great for digestive rebuilding and repairing. It is a fabulous source of nutrients including vitamins B, C, & E, and minerals calcium, magnesium and potassium. It is a great source of essential fatty acids, as well as trace element zinc & iodine.

Here’s a simple secret to keeping your joints and muscles limber post exercise: ✨Collagen!✨ 👉 Collagen peptides, which are also commonly referred to as hydrolyzed collagen and collagen hydrolysate, are small peptides that are derived from collagen, the primary structural protein in ligaments, tendons, skin, and bones.

I love the stuff and usually add a scoop to my hot cocoa chocolate drinks or to a yummy bone broth or soup to help increase the health benefits of my food as medicine. Some fun facts and uses for collagen are:

Vitamin D is found in dietary sources, such as fish, eggs, and fortified milk, and it is also made in the skin during brief exposure to sunlight. Even with these factored into your daily routine, Vitamin D levels can be low.

Your sensitivity to this can be seen through DNA gene profiling as well as blood pathology testing. When was the last time you had your Vitamin D levels tested & reviewed for your optimum health & performance?

🚨Updated 6.6.22: Good news!!

We’ve just heard back from the department of waste & water at lismore shire today confirming that the sewage plant has been temporarily fixed as of last week & is now treating the raw sewage before it is being release into the Wilson river, which is a huge relief (and we hope it stays this way after such a long time of being untreated without any public warnings).

However, there is still high levels of enterococcus being measured by the Byron & Ballina shires at local beaches, which is likely still coming from the Wilson river waterways. The next water quality report for Byron beaches is due out by the end of this week we are told, and will be reported on the Byron shire website under “water quality of our beaches and waterways”.

This is still a major health hazard as untreated sewage from the last 3+ months is still active in the waterways & beaches so please keep an eye on the Byron shire website for water safety reports, which we are told are being done weekly.

I love our beaches, the ocean is my second home & I value the high standard of quality water we are usually blessed with in Australia to swim & surf in daily.

It’s been devastating to not be able to safely enjoy our beaches over the last 2-4 months due to the natural disaster of floods destroying the Lismore sewage plant.

The ABC reported that it’s current releasing 4 million litres of raw sewage into our local waterway’s daily… this is devastating to all the marine life, animals & humans that use these waterways & the surrounding oceans daily.

It would be amazing to have the sewage plant fixed as soon as possible, with enough care from the community & anyone who’s been to this amazing area & enjoyed the beautiful nature & ocean here, we can all push to get this happening sooner rather than later!

Please sign the petition & share it to everyone you know to help get the word out! And please take care in the water, I’ve personally seen many friends & clients with all sorts of infections & e.coli based gastro from swimming in the raw sewage unknowingly.
