Repost • 💙 Blue Stack for Palestine Challenge Recap 💙

What started as a little idea that I hoped would bring some extra funds and awareness to .pal95’s campaign turned into something more than I had ever dreamed.

In total there were 602 posts made using the and hashtags!! 602 of you took time out of your lives to make beautiful, incredible posts in support of Basel!

Together with my donation and the donations from the incredible matchers, this challenge raised a total of $3,000 AUD!!! And this doesn’t even include the donations that individuals made to go with their posts! These funds are crucial in assisting Basel in providing for Lara and Mira, Angham (his wife), his parents, and his siblings.

And now for the thank you speech 😆

My first big thank you has to go to Basel, for giving me the green (or blue 🤭) light to go ahead with this challenge, and for sharing his life and his beautiful family with us 💙

This video is made by a beautiful soul I know, a doctor who has spoken up for Palestinian human rights and been smeared and threatened with deregistration in the process.

If you don’t know about the political persecution of doctors who have upheld their professional oaths to do no harm, and their citizen duties to do everything in their power to prevent a genocide, please read the many articles about doxxed doctors extending back to January 2024 in the wsws.org and February 2024 in Michael West Media. Also the August 2025 article in The Guardian Australia.

And please raise awareness by talking about it with your friends, sharing the articles and writing to your MP.

What the heck is going on with the police around the world?

Close to home, the QPS applied for a court order to stop us marching over the Story Bridge. Sure it’s easier for everyone to get to Queens Gardens and march over the Victoria Bridge anyway, but it’s so obviously a political ploy to stop the visibility of the people’s protest.

The state is terrified after seeing the 300K people at the Sydney Harbour Bridge, one of the largest per capita rallies over the Gazan G*cide since Oct 7. So they have diverted us to a route that is far less iconic, & void of pedestrians and traffic on a Sunday. Almost as if they don’t want anyone to notice the protest😒

And then there’s German police, here seen covering the eyes of a 13 yo 👩🏻 protester as they es**rt her to a police vehicle. That’s nothing compared to the assaults we’ve seen on our 📱these past 22 months.

Then there are the seemingly clueless UK coppers who are doing their job by join-the-dot. And the young Welsh cop the interviewer is hoping has a heart.

I know police work is hard, & that individual officers who went into it to help protect those who can’t protect themselves must hate their jobs at times. It reminds me of the tsar’s soldiers who stood aside & let the revolutionary forces take the palace in the Russian Revolution. That will surely happen one day, & perhaps sooner than we think!

After all, I know I’m not the only middle-aged, middle-class mother to be radicalised by the events of the past 22 months.

What’s weird is that the police seem to have no shame or compunction in taking orders from their Zionist-backed masters. Why would they act in a way that that is against their own interests, in a way that makes people like me want to call them pigs, instead of being a compliant Labor Party supporter?

But I guess that is the role of the police, as state repressive apparatus, under capitalism. We have seen how their role is to protect property, not people, and especially not the innocents of 🇵🇸

BTW, I’m aware that I’m incredibly privileged to have got to mid-life before this all touched me personally.
