Shopping for a Pilates studio, and want classes that feel good for your grown up 40/50/60 year old bod? Here's just a few red flags to look out for...

🚩 They're the cheapest classes you can find
🚩 The website doesn't have teacher bios (why not?🤨)
🚩 There's no info on your teachers qualifications (again, why not?)
🚩 Their classes are suitable for everybody (ummm, they’re not!)
🚩 Their open classes welcome pre and post natal bodies (pre and post natal gals require and deserve much more than a modified open class!)
🚩 Language like tone, define, shred, burn and contour is peppered throughout the website 👎🏽
🚩 There’s heavily discounted challenges/memberships that encourage overtraining (a hormonal disaster for perimenopausal and menopausal bods!)

If you see more than one of these on a studios website, it's more likely that they're selling you 'fitness on a reformer' classes- and less likely that they're teaching 'Pilates'. By all means join these classes if they feel right for you- but in an unregulated industry it’s nice to know what you should be looking for.
