Why is everyone booking with Renee?

Brisbane, 2006.
Australian College of Natural Medicine.

Massage students. Acupuncture students. Aromatherapy students.
Everyone smelled like patchouli and probably had a crystal in their bag.

We were just students. Ten dollar massages.
But people kept coming back to me.
Again. And again.

My classmates asked, “Why is everyone booking with you?”

Maybe it’s because my mum used to tell me I had magic in my hands.
Maybe it’s because I actually listened to the teacher.
But in hindsight, I just liked seeing people taken care of.

Back then, I wasn’t super confident.
This was the first thing I saw I was good at.
It didn’t even feel like effort.
I enjoyed it.

I liked watching someone walk in with their shoulders up around their ears…
and leave different.

That’s still what I want to give people now.
If you’re a woman and you want that, my table’s open.

A little nervous posting this, but I’m not massaging men anymore.

I started this business because I was ready.

Treating clients since I was 20 (you can guess the math), working at high end establishments in the region- to the other side of the world. Fully booked. Impeccable five star ratings.

But I wasn’t seeing the money. Someone else was.

So I did the Australian thing: I backed myself. I started my own business.

And most of my early clients?

They were men.

Now, don’t get me wrong — they were polite. They paid. Everything went fine. Great humans.

But quietly, I felt a line forming in me.

I had to leave my little studio in the Byron industrial estate due to noise pollution.

Now? I’m setting up at home. In Myocum. Just for a while.

You should see this place — the sunset over Mount Warning AND Mr Chincogan will make you melt.

But here’s the line:
I’m not massaging men anymore.

This isn’t a scandal.
This isn’t a callout.
This is a mum with two kids who doesn’t want men she doesn’t know walking into her home.

That’s it.

And if you get that — if that makes perfect sense to you (and you’re a woman)— then you’re invited.

Chamomile is reopening.

Same bodywork. Same results.

New setting. New rules.
