The mind is an immaterial concept used to characterize thoughts, feelings, subjective states, and self-awareness that presumably arise from the brain.

The mind is the set of abilities responsible of mental wonders such as consciousness, thought, imagination, memory, will and sensation.

These abilities are responsible for things we experience in life such as, perception
pain experience, belief, desire, intention, and emotion.

Brains are extremely complex and the control centre of the central nervous system, responsible for thought. Understanding the relationship between the brain and the mind (aka 'the mind-body problem') is one of the biggest issues in the history of philosophy and science.

The health of your mind, or as we commonly know it - mental health, is about looking at how effectively a person's mind functions 'the mind-body connection'. There is no right or wrong.

Feeling capable and competent; being able to handle normal levels of stress, leading an independent life; and being able to "bounce back" or recover from difficult situations, are all indicators of mental health.

Studies have found that massage therapy has a positive effect on people that were experiencing different 'mind' stuff including stress, anxiety, overwhelm.

The experiment found that participants that had a massage experienced a significant increase in serotonin and dopamine (feel-good neurotransmitter) levels. It also showed a significant reduction in their cortisol (stress) levels.

Muscles have a range of functions such as:
🫀 pumping blood
🤸 joint stability
🥵 heat production
🚶 posture
🏋️ heavy lifting

Muscles work by either contracting or relaxing to cause movement. This movement may be voluntary (meaning the movement is made consciously 💪) or done without our conscious awareness (involuntary 👁).
