It’s Invisible Disabilities Week (19–25 October)! 🌻

Around 80–85% of people with a disability have one that isn’t visible. These include neurological, cognitive, sensory, mental health, and chronic conditions that aren’t always immediately apparent.

Not all disabilities are visible — but a little understanding and kindness can go a long way in making everyone feel seen and supported.

This is an casual employed position:
Support Worker needed to support a participant in their home and to access the community, including assistance with personal care.
Participant requests:
* Female Support Worker age 30-45 years.
* English as a first language; participant struggles to understand accents.
* Must be fit and able to lift a manual wheelchair.
* Must be comfortable and confident around a large dog.
* Attention to detail.
* High level of reliability and commitment to the role.
* Ability to handle challenging situations with a calm and positive approach.

Qualifications:
- Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care or equivalent.
- Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current CPR & First Aid

This is an employed position: $77.81/hr + Super.
No independent Support Workers please.

Support Worker needed to support a participant to access the community, including assistance with personal care.
Participant requests a Male Support Worker, with experience and a good sense of humour who likes a good yarn. Must be able to lift a manual wheelchair.
Meet and Greet with the participant prior to commencing regular shifts.

Role Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated Support Worker to provide quality support and care to a participant in accordance with their goals.
Provide support to positively impact the participant to ensure their safety and wellbeing at all times, while engaging in the community.

Qualifications:

Support Worker: High Intensity needed to support a participant to live independently in their home. Experience and confidence in working with high intensity participants with complex medical conditions essential.
This is an employed position, Pay is above award for the right candidate.
A mix of Morning and Afternoon shifts available 4-5 shifts per week.

Role Overview:
We are looking for dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality support and care to the participant in accordance with their care plan to ensure continuity of care.
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal care.
- Ensure the participant's safety and well-being at all times.
- Engage in meaningful activities that promote the participant's independence and quality of life.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided.
- Collaborate with other team members and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.

Qualifications:
- Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent.
- Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current CPR & First Aid
- Previous experience in high-intensity support

Skills and Attributes:

Oceans of Support are seeking a qualified support worker for a regular shift in Rothwell; Friday 11am-4pm. The role includes supporting the participant in their home and the community, attending therapies and appointments, domestic assistance, guidance in routine management and assistance with cooking.
Knowledge and experience with ASD, mental health and ABI support an advantage. Must like dogs and be LGBTQIA+ friendly and have a fully insured vehicle that is able to fit a manual wheelchair.

Our participant is a quirky soul, who lives at home with their supportive parents and younger brother and 2 dogs. They love animals, gaming, arts & craft, retro gaming collectables, op shopping and getting out in nature.
Our participant’s diagnosis includes ASD level 2, ADHD, POTS (Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome), Narcolepsy, mental health related issues and an acquired brain injury.
Must be able to work as part of a team of supports and the right person would have availability to cover sick leave and holiday leave at times.
