Self Love has been my biggest lesson to learn so far in this life time.
Loving others comes very easily to me, this has often resulted in Self abandonment, placing too much weight on what others think of me, crippling anxiety in my younger years, procrastination due to perfectionism, Over-responsibilty leading to burn out and so so much more.
2025 was a deep deep journey of heart work for me to come back to true self love. I invested in 3 different programs to support me through this process holistically on a personal and professional level; mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
These programs brought me even deeper into my own methods using SoulSetting Transformational Therapy™️ in new ways.
I peeled away all my layers of misalignment, I allowed things to fall away and some things I consciously removed.
I did for me what I've easily done for others with my C.A.R.E.S framework and much needed reminders and outside reflections from trusted guides.
The results have been a profound feeling of being deeply at home within myself. I have always had a deep connection to my inner world but now I'm finally prioritizing my experience over others expectations.
Here are the things I have learned and are continuing to integrate and embody in regards to Self Love; What it is, and what it isn't.
Self-love is the calm acceptance of yourself as you are, without inner struggle, self-rejection, or the need to prove your worth.
It is not an emotional high.
It is not admiration.
It is not indulgence.
It is inner consent with yourself.
Simply Self-love is allowing yourself to be yourself, fully, completely, truly.
Self-love is
💖Acceptance without justification
You do not need to earn your right to exist, rest, receive, or desire.
You stop bargaining with yourself:
“I’ll accept myself when I’m better.”
“I’ll value myself once I’ve healed.”
“I’ll be worthy after I succeed.”
Self-love begins when the inner argument ends.
💖Alignment instead of self-punishment
Self-love means you stop forcing yourself to be different in order to be acceptable.
You may still grow, evolve, and change, but not from rejection, shame, or pressure.
Growth comes from alignment, not self-attack.
💖Neutrality instead of self-importance
Self-love quiets inner tension.
You stop idolising others.
You stop condemning yourself.
You stop dramatizing your flaws.
This neutrality creates ease, clarity, and flow in life.
💖Respect for your inner state
You listen to your limits, energy, timing, and truth.
You do not betray yourself to be liked.
You do not override your intuition to meet expectations.
You do not abandon your values to avoid discomfort.
This is not indulgence.
It is integrity.
💖 Permission to choose
Self-love allows desire without shame.
You are allowed to want what you want.
You are allowed to choose what resonates.
You are allowed to say no.
You are allowed to be all of you
Choice becomes calm and grounded instead of defensive or reactive.
Self-love is
💔 Not self-complacency
Self-love is not avoiding responsibility or refusing to grow.
Stagnation is not self-love.
Growth still happens, but without violence toward yourself.
💔Not ego or superiority
Self-love is not pride, vanity, or seeing yourself as better than others.
Those states create inner tension and disconnection.
True self-love is quiet and grounded.
💔Not indulgence without care
Self-love does not mean ignoring consequences or escaping discomfort.
When you value yourself, you naturally care for your body, time, and energy.
You naturally listen to the discomfort and face it head on, because that's what true love does.
Discipline arises from respect, not force.
💔Not constant positivity
Self-love does not require feeling good all the time.
You are allowed to feel sadness, doubt, anger, or uncertainty without attacking yourself for it.
Self-love allows all states without judgment.
Self Love is love of your humanity
💔Not self-centeredness
Self-love does not isolate you from others.
It improves relationships because you stop seeking validation, approval, or rescue.
You stop over-giving to be loved.
You show up clean and present.
Self-love is not thinking highly of yourself.
It is no longer thinking against yourself.
When the inner fight ends, life softens.
When resistance dissolves, clarity and movement return.
When you are no longer at war with yourself, you naturally move toward what is true for you.
You come home to yourself. You can hear your Soul speak and you love yourself enough to honour that voice with listening and action that aligns with your truth.
