I'm 63 years old. I'm a grandmother and step great grandmother. I'm not interested in looking younger, it changes nothing. I will still be 63, I will still be looking at living less life than I have already lived. I am okay with that. I refuse to get caught up with the youth obsession that makes women hate themselves and spend money on cosmetics. We need to be happy with who we are at whatever stage of life.

I'm currently selling my house as I don't need the space any more so I'm having to get rid of stuff. Some things are easy but others are harder because of the memories attached. The pottery decanter is a case in point. My father gave it to me 40 years ago and it's a tangible connection to a man no longer with us. My father would be the first to say do what you have to. I've tried to find a family member but no one has the space. It is going to a charity shop and hopefully have a new life.

If people want to be in your life, they will be. They will make an effort to be there for you. Actions speak louder than words. Don't feel bad if people show you who they are but when they do, believe them.
