Since joining Regis Wynnum in April 2023, Nikki has embraced every opportunity to grow and build strong relationships with residents and families. After starting in reception, she stepped into the Club Services Manager role in June 2024, a move that felt like a natural next step.

“No two days are the same,” Nikki said. “I support residents and families from the moment they walk through the door, and I love hearing their stories. It’s incredibly rewarding.”

The results are in – meet the winner of the Regis 2025 Art Competition!

After receiving so many wonderful and creative submissions from across our Regis Homes, we are thrilled to congratulate Sandra Williams from Regis Redlynch, and her work, ‘Untitled’ as the winning piece!

Sandra’s stunning painting reflects a lily pond scene with koi fish swimming underneath vibrant green water lilies. Sandra said, “I was so pleased with how it turned out. Every time I look at it, I’m reminded of the feeling of accomplishment and joy that comes with creating something that works exactly the way you envision it.”

When she found out she had won, Sandra was overjoyed that she could share her art with other people. She added, “knowing that I had done something magical like that was good for my soul.”

Halloween brought plenty of fun to Regis Homes last week, with costumes, games and sweet treats shared across the community.

At Regis Camp Hill, residents made spooky snacks like mummified sausages and spider cookies, danced to the Addams Family theme and posed for photos in a Halloween booth.

At Regis Nedlands, Halloween was celebrated with a themed Happy Hour featuring live music, drinks and snacks. Residents were invited to dress up and enjoy the afternoon together, creating a relaxed and festive atmosphere.

Regis Holland Park joined in with pumpkin scones, Halloween games and candy prizes. Resident Greta said, “I’ll be sharing the candies I won with my family and the friendly staff here.”

These moments bring people together and make each Home feel special.

Greta, a resident at Regis Holland Park, brings energy, humour and heart to everything she does. From cheering at her daughter’s swim meets with a wooden spoon to earning life membership with Swimming Queensland, Greta’s journey is full of memorable moments and meaningful contributions.

She’s known fondly as ‘Mrs T,’ has a 7ft spoon gifted in her honour and once met her husband while roller skating. Her story is one of joy, community and unexpected beginnings.

Greta’s story is part of our See Me program, which celebrates the individuality of each resident by sharing their life experiences, passions and personal values. Through See Me, we honour the vibrant lives our residents have led and continue to lead by capturing their stories in their own words. Greta’s warmth, humour and lifelong commitment to community shine through, reminding us that every person has a rich and meaningful story worth sharing.

Earlier this week, Regis Fawkner residents enjoyed a lunch outing to the Pascoe Vale RSL. For some, it was a return to a place filled with personal memories. The group shared a delicious meal and plenty of conversation, reconnecting with the local community in a meaningful way.

“It was so nice to be back at the RSL. I used to come here regularly, and it brought back so many memories,” said Mervyn, a resident and RSL member.

Residents from Regis Ontario, Regis Sunraysia and Home Care came together for a peaceful afternoon cruising along the Murray River. With the sun shining through the windows and the water birds gliding past, the day was filled with stories, laughter and reflection.

Jean has always loved being surrounded by plants, so when she moved to Regis Sandgate Lucinda, the team wanted to make sure that passion stayed alive.

With help from her grandson, a balcony garden was created just outside her room. Now Jean spends her mornings watering the plants and checking for new blooms, often joined by other residents who enjoy the greenery and fresh air.

“It’s a dream come true. I feel at home here.” Jean says.

Residents from across Western Australia came together for the 2025 Regis WA Olympics, a day filled with friendly competition, laughter and new friendships.

The games included seated volleyball, bean bag toss, darts and a lively sports quiz. While the competition was fun, the real highlight was the connection. Residents shared stories, cheered each other on and even made plans to visit one another’s Homes.

Resident Marjorie said, “I enjoyed every minute of the day. At the end, all that matters is that everyone at the event was happy and had big smiles.”
