Brothers and Sisters in Arms

Brothers and Sisters in Arms Brothers and Sisters in Arms is a disability service. We provide holistic care plans that cater to individual needs to promote supported independence.

My name is Dan,
I have an Army and Nursing background and have recently felt called to move into the disability support sector. At current Brothers and Sisters in Arms is about providing support coordination surrounding the disability sector. Our aim is to provide holistic care plans that cater for the individual and assist in building and maintaining an independent lifestyle. For some time, I have felt that the disability sector has been difficult to navigate and at times I still find this. We as a company want to provide a service that takes the stress out of managing the NDIS and seek to assist you in getting what you need through the NDIS. If you find the process of managing your disability or disability services overwhelming, We are here to tell you that it does not need to be this way anymore and that we don't want you to battle this alone. What is Youth Mentoring?

Youth mentoring is a supportive relationship between a young person and an adult that can help the young person develop and thrive.

It can help young people in many ways, including:

• Sense of belonging
Mentoring can help young people feel like they matter and are not alone.

• Academic achievement
Mentoring can help young people improve their academic performance and graduate high school.

• Mental health
Developing supportive relationships can help young people's mental health, and can reduce their risk of developing mental health challenges.

• Social skills
Youth mentoring can help young people develop social skills and improve their relationships with parents, teachers, and peers.

• Self-esteem
With guidance from a mentor, young people often develop self-esteem, self-confidence and self worth.

• Career exploration
Mentoring can help young people explore careers and develop leadership skills.

• College access
Mentoring can help young people access college and pursue higher educational aspirations.

Mentoring programs can also help to address the need for connection, which can be important for both young people and adults.

🌿 It’s OK to Not Be OK

Dear Families,

We know the NDIS can feel like a full-time job. Between appointments, paperwork, and trying to find the right supports, it can get overwhelming. That’s where we come in.

As Support Coordinators, we’re not just ticking boxes. We’re here to walk alongside you.

Behind the scenes, we’re:
• Reading through your plan to understand what’s possible
• Calling providers, comparing options, and making sure they get your loved one
• Preparing reports and coordinating reviews so you're ready when the time comes
• Advocating quietly in the background so your family doesn’t have to fight every battle alone
• Celebrating wins (big and small) with you

You carry so much, and while you may not always see the work we’re doing, know that we’re in your corner every single step of the way

With care,
Your Support Coordinator

Living with a disability can present unique mental health challenges, but it's important to remember that your worth is not defined by your struggles.

💙 Mental health matters for everyone, and reaching out for support is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Let's break the stigma and create a world where we can talk openly about both physical and mental health. You are seen, you are heard, and you are not alone. 🌟
