Left of Centre is now closed. It is no more. While I am incredibly sad, I am also excited to see where each of the LOC family ends up. I can see bright futures for all of them. It has been an honour to know and work with what I consider my second family.
Thank you to all of our wonderful clients. It has been a privilege to be a small part of your lives. I wish you all the very best.
This is not goodbye, you will see us all soon, in our new roles.

April is Autism Awareness Month.
Historically, it was started by a major US company, who use the blue puzzle piece to represent the Autistic community. Unfortunately, that company is not affirming of the unique identity that is Autism.
So, now we use the gold infinity symbol for Autism, and the multicoloured infinity symbol for the broader Neurodivergent population.
Please be aware, that for Autistics, it can actually be a pretty painful and traumatising month, as we are exposed to increased levels of discrimination, exposure to unhelpful concepts about our neurotype, and for some, sensory overwhelm, mental health challenges or worse.

I have been running full day training to help psychologists skill up in the assessment of Autism and ADHD. These courses have been selling FAST! I love training, and I love that psychs are more and more interested in the Neurodiversity Affirmative Paradigm.

I have been honoured to be invited to present as part of this Summer PD series at the Gold Coast. This is the first time I will be talking about the Neurodiversity Affirmative Paradigm ALL DAY! I am so excited.

I am so excited to offer this training. Accessing high quality assessments for autism can be almost impossible, with the demand far outweighing capacity. At Left of Centre, we pride ourselves on our assessments, so it is with great pride I now offer this training to other psychologists that are wanting to skill up in this area.
There will be ongoing groups, limited to 8 participants, to allow time for questioning and more contact with the trainer (Allison).
The first date will be announced soon, but will be in October. Feel free to share!
