Labour Day is coming up this Monday! 🛠️🌿

A quick reminder as we head into the long weekend: this day celebrates the workers’ movement that helped establish fair pay, safer workplaces, and the 8-hour workday here in Australia. That’s a big part of why we’re able to enjoy time to rest today.

So when Monday rolls around, consider it your permission slip to properly switch off. 😌
Sleep in, get outside, catch up with friends, or do something that genuinely recharges you.

Because rest isn’t a reward for burnout—it’s part of staying well. 🧠💚

And a gentle note for the long weekend: while many businesses and services may be closed, support is still available if you need it. If things feel heavy or overwhelming, you’re not alone—reach out. Crisis and mental health support services are open 24/7, even on public holidays.

Take care of yourself and each other this Labour Day.

💙 Men’s Mental Health Matters 💙
Looking after mental health is just as important as looking after physical health, and no one needs to do it alone.

At Caboolture Medicare Mental Health Centre, we run a Men’s Wellbeing Group that focuses on connection, everyday mental health, and creating a safe space for men to talk, listen, and support each other.
If you’d like to know more about what the group is like and how it works, hear it directly from Ron, our Lead Facilitator for the Men’s Wellbeing Group 👇

If you’re in the Caboolture, Bribie Island, or Kilcoy regions and need support with your mental health, Caboolture Medicare Mental Health is here for you.

You can walk in at any time and connect with one of our peer workers—no referral needed.

Our peer workers are trained, trauma-informed, and work from a client-centred approach. What makes peer work so valuable is lived experience. Our peer workers understand mental health challenges not only professionally, but personally. That lived experience brings empathy, understanding, and a grounded sense of hope that recovery and wellbeing are possible.

Peer support offers something different in mental health care—real connection, shared understanding, and support without judgement.

If you’re struggling, feeling overwhelmed, or simply need someone to talk to, you don’t have to go through it alone. Support is available across Caboolture, Bribie Island, and Kilcoy.

Tomorrow we pause to commemorate ANZAC Day — a time to reflect on the courage, sacrifice, and service of those who have served our country, both past and present.

As we remember the history and honour those who gave so much, it is also important to acknowledge that the impact of service can continue long after the events themselves. For many individuals, families, and communities, these experiences can carry forward in ways that affect wellbeing today.

Caboolture Medicare Mental Health Centre stands in support of our community — including veterans, current service members, and their loved ones. If this time of reflection brings up thoughts, emotions, or challenges, please know that you are not alone.

Our doors are open, and support is available. Whether you’re seeking guidance, a conversation, or simply a safe space, we welcome you to come in.

Lest we forget.

Here are the times and locations for ANZAC services taking place in our local area this Saturday.

Other services will be held in the broader Moreton Bay north region, including Wamuran, Beachmere and Deception Bay.

You can search the RSL Queensland website for a service close to you.

We had an amazing time attending Pride Fest Moreton Bay on Saturday! 🏳️‍🌈✨

It was wonderful to see the community come together to celebrate diversity, inclusion, and pride. The energy, colour, and sense of connection throughout the day truly highlighted how strong and supportive our local LGBTQIA+SB community is.
Thank you to the organisers, stallholders, performers, and everyone who stopped by to chat with us and make a badge or add to our Rainbow Wall, it was a pleasure being part of such a vibrant and welcoming event 💖

We were grateful to be invited to the inaugural Metro North DBT Collaborative meeting alongside nearly 40 mental health services from across the region.
The collaborative is focused on strengthening DBT referral pathways, sharing knowledge, identifying service gaps and building stronger cross‑sector collaboration. An encouraging step forward for DBT access in Metro North.

We value the collective commitment to improving access to DBT and look forward to ongoing collaboration.
