✨A Threshold Moment | Listening for the Year Ahead
(with Vedic Full Moon wisdom woven in) ✨
As we stand at the beginning of a new year, many of us find ourselves in a quieter space — a pause between what has been and what is becoming. A place where clarity is not forced, but revealed through slowing down and listening. I know this is where I always seem to resonate these days at this time of year and this YEAR is especially so.
Like me, you might also find yourself in a bit of a season of change or transition, It may be a time of listening to what is really being asked to be simplified, to be softened, valued, nourished, completed or released. I am really resonating here as well.
The natural rhythm of life reminds us that true beginnings align with the Earth’s cycles. In many wisdom traditions, the New Year is not really here yet — it is still waiting in the wings. And yet, we live inside the Gregorian calendar, and there is nothing wrong with meeting it gently. Overall, 2026 does carry significant cosmic conditions for healing, spiritual growth, knowledge, generosity, and self-sovereignty.
What if January became a threshold rather than a launch?
A time of reflection, rest, and quiet release. Rather than rushing to set intentions, consider a gentler approach.
✨ Anchor into a desired feeling, rather than a fixed goal. An unlimited vision of your heart's desire supporting you to lead the way.
Ask yourself what you need more of in your life right now — not how it should look, but how it should feel. For the next couple of weeks, allow yourself to explore and grow this feeling through lived experiences and reflections.
Let go of needing to define it perfectly.
Spend a little more time away from devices and constant input.
Allow space for silence, simplicity, clarity and love to bloom in their own way.
This week’s Vedic Full Moon supports exactly that.
The moon shines in Ardra, the “star of storms” — a lunar energy associated with purification, clarity, and release. Like a cleansing rain, Ardra clears what has been held beneath the surface, allowing truth and insight to emerge without force.
Aligned closely with expansive Jupiter, this full moon widens perspective and helps us see the bigger picture of the year ahead. It supports healing, cooperation, and a deeper honesty in relationships — with others, and with ourselves.
Rather than striving or pushing, this moon invites us to pause and listen.
To soften into stillness.
To let go of what no longer serves.
This is also a potent moment to notice patterns around love, energy, and self-worth, and to step back from unnecessary conflict or urgency. Keeping life simple, spacious, and grounded is deeply supportive right now.
So here is your gentle invitation for this first week of the year:
Let your goals be about letting go.
Rest deeply.
Clear inner space.
Allow the nervous system to feel held.
A simple embodiment practice can support this:
Set aside five to ten minutes.
Choose a place where your body feels supported.
Let your weight settle. Feel the surface beneath you holding your body.
Place one hand on your belly and one on your chest.
Let the breath move naturally.
Gently scan your body and ask — without needing answers:
What feels heavy?
What is ready to soften or release?
What feels supportive at this pace?
If something is ready to be placed down, imagine doing so.
Let your system register that it is safe to rest here.
When you’re ready, return slowly — perhaps writing down one word or phrase that reflects what this season is asking of you.
This practice can be returned to anytime January feels loud or demanding.
✨ There is plenty of time — and you are already enough. ✨
