The doTERRA AromaTouch Technique is a clinical approach to applying essential oils along energy meridians and visceral contact points of the back and feet to help balance the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems of the body; to aid in bringing the body back into balance from environmental factors such as stress, toxic insult, inflammation and autonomic imbalance. Essential oils are composed of tiny molecules that are small enough to penetrate the blood brain barrier, which to you means that using them actually produces healing behefits that many modern-day pharmaceuticals cannot. The human body contains 100 trillion cells. One drop of essential oil contains approximately 40 million trillion molecules. That's enough to cover every cell in our body with 40,000 molecules. It only takes one molecule of the right kind to open a receptor site for healing and alter cellular function. You can see why using even one drop or inhaling essential oil vapour can have a profound effect on your health. Using doTERRA's Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade essential oils with this application increases the benefits people experience in a profound way. Grounded in solid science and research, this technique is beneficial to anyone seeking to improve overall health and well-being, and provides another opportunity to emphasise the benefits of incorporating Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade essential oils in everyday living.

🌟 Awaken Your Vital Life Force 🌟

As the winds blow strong outside, our minds and emotions can feel scattered or restless. Step into our beautiful, sacred, intimate space—air-conditioned, protected, and comfortable—where you can ground, restore, and reconnect with your energy.

This week, join us for a Yin & Yoga Nidra journey designed to harmonise and awaken your seven sacred chakra centres. Through gentle yin postures, sacred bija mantras, and a deeply restorative guided meditation, we will flow from root to crown, nourishing your body, mind, and spirit.

Our chakra system connects to the pranamaya kosha—the energy sheath of the body—and is the gateway to your vital life force (prana), emotions, and spiritual vitality. This practice will soothe emotional turbulence, dissolve tension, and restore balance, leaving you feeling grounded, energised, and radiant.

✨ Begin with mindful yin postures for each chakra, opening pathways for energy to flow freely.
✨ Conclude with a Yoga Nidra meditation, inviting life force to circulate through your body, heart, and mind, creating calm, clarity, and inner harmony.

As the practice settles in, feel energy awaken in your spine, in your heart, and in every cell of your being. Let the flow of prana guide you back to balance, to light, to your natural radiance.

🌿 Gentle. Grounding. Transformative.
🌿 From root to crown, awaken your inner vitality.
🌿 Rest. Receive. Shine.

Come, return to your natural flow and let your energy bloom.

✨ New Moon in Chitra • Diwali • The Light of Dharma ✨

As we arrive at this New Moon, we stand at the threshold of Diwali — the Festival of Light — a time to honour the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair.

Traditionally, a candle or lamp is placed at the doorway — a symbolic gesture to invite illumination, wisdom, and opportunity into our homes and hearts.

This New Moon falls in Chitra Nakshatra, the star known as the “shining jewel,” symbolised by a radiant diamond.
Chitra’s light cuts through the darkness with piercing clarity — a spark of divine inspiration and a reminder that the truest wealth is the wisdom to know what is uniquely right for you, moment to moment.
When the mind is illuminated by dharma — by right purpose — one is truly wealthy.

This festival of Diwali begins with celebrations of Dhanteras, which is the story of Lord Dhanvantari, the divine healer who arose from the cosmic ocean holding a pot of amrita, - the nectar of immortality and honoured as the lord of Ayurvedic medicine.
So this is also a sacred time to honour the wisdom of Ayurveda — and a beautiful opportunity to cleanse, restore balance, and invite vitality.

We also call upon Lakshmi, the divine mother and nourisher of the world, and Ganesha, the remover of obstacles — energies that together awaken abundance, compassion, and peace within.

As you light your candle this Diwali, remember:
💫 Light shines brightest in the darkness.
💫 Prosperity, compassion, and peace radiate from within.
💫 Each spark you ignite is an offering to your higher purpose.

On this subject of LIGHT, it is perhaps important to note, that astrologically, from October 18, expansive Jupiter brings his heightened divine grace — a time when faith, opportunity, and spiritual support increase for those who are open to it.
On November 11, Jupiter turns retrograde in the constellation of Punarvasu, the “return of the light,” bringing renewal, reflection, and a deep reconnection to spiritual truth.
Throughout November, Jupiter’s aspect with Saturn offers a healing influence for relationships, an energy for learning and teaching, and a supportive current for service, devotion, and spiritual practice.

🪔 A Diwali Ritual for Heartfelt Purpose 🪔

✨ Light a candle
Choose a small candle or lamp and place it at your doorway or sacred space.
As the flame steadies, feel it as a symbol of your own inner radiance — the spark of clarity, purpose, and possibility that lives within you.

🌟 Be Open to opportunity
Take a few quiet breaths. Ask yourself gently: What new opportunity, purpose, or heart felt inspiration is ready to arise?
Trust the whispers that come — they are the voice of your heart calling you.

💛 Offer gratitude
Bring to mind the blessings that have guided you to this moment — your teachers, your growth, your resilience.
Let gratitude soften your heart and expand your awareness.

🙏 Set an intention
Let your heart speak. What quality do you wish to carry into the months ahead — openness, courage, compassion, ritual, spiritual discipline, self care, deepening your knowledge, charity or humanitarian work?
Whisper it softly to the flame and let the light hold it for you.

🎇 Celebrate together — from within and afar
Know that across homes, mats, and oceans worldwide, we are joined in this moment and celebration of LIGHT — a shared remembrance that illumination begins within.

May this Diwali and New Moon fill your path with radiant clarity and divine purpose.
May you walk forward with a heart open to grace, aligned with opportunity, and guided by the quiet brilliance of your inner flame.

🕯️✨ Happy Diwali ✨

Cleanse & Renew: Yoga for Agni

As we move deeper into spring, nature continues to call us to cleanse, lighten, and renew. The heaviness of winter softens, and the world begins to exhale — inviting us to do the same.

This week’s class, Cleanse & Renew: Yoga for Agni, is devoted to awakening our inner fire — the sacred flame of digestion and transformation. In Ayurveda, Agni is the light of clarity and vitality that helps us release what is no longer serving our body or mind.

When Agni burns brightly, we feel energised, inspired, and connected to life’s natural rhythm of renewal.

How fitting then, that this week also brings Diwali, the Festival of Lights — a time to honour the triumph of illumination over darkness, awareness over inertia, and love over fear. It’s a moment to tend to our own inner flame, to nurture the light of consciousness within, and to let that radiance guide our choices, habits, and health.

On the mat, we’ll move with gentle fluidity and warmth, supporting the liver and gallbladder — our organs of detoxification and emotional flow. Our breath will fan the flame of Agni, movement will stir vitality through every cell, and stillness will open the heart to renewal.

May this practice help you come home to your own light — clear, alive, and steady. ✨

If you feel called to extend this seasonal renewal into your home and daily rhythm, I am so happy to support you with my Home Cleanse Ebook now available in its intial stages — a gentle Ayurvedic guide to restoring balance, vitality, and radiant wellbeing from within for all doshas. 🌸

REVIVE – Yin for Liver & Gallbladder Meridians

Spring calls us to awaken — to stretch, move, and breathe life back into our inner landscape. 💜
This week we work with the Liver and Gallbladder meridians, the pathways of vision, flow, and renewal, as we support the body’s natural rhythm of cleansing and revitalising.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Liver is the great harmoniser — it governs the smooth flow of qi, emotions, and creativity. When balanced, we feel inspired, clear, and flexible — both in body and in spirit. When stagnant, we may feel frustration, fatigue, or heaviness.

Through long-held Yin postures, gentle breath, and awareness, we’ll invite movement, softness, and release into these meridian lines — allowing energy to circulate freely once more. This is your time to revive from within. 💜

🌿🌕 Spring into Growth + Full Moon Magic 🌕🌿

This week in class, we shall return to the vibrant energy of Spring, the season of renewal, creativity, and expansion — the essence of the Wood Element. Just as new shoots emerge from the earth, and the bark of the trees, this is a time to awaken your courage, vision, dreams and growth - and embracing the pioneering spirit within you. 🌟

Under the glow of this powerful Full Moon in the constellation of Revati, this practice becomes even more potent. This moon is famed for raining nectar, blessing the night and week ahead with opportunities for protection, nurturance, purpose, finding your path, dreams and clarity. It is a perfect time to moon bathe, set intentions, and invite healing energy into your life for the months and years to come.. 🌕💛

Together, we’ll move with intention:
✨ Energizing the liver meridian to awaken vitality
✨ Gentle releases to let go of what no longer serves
✨ Heart-opening and grounding practices that honor your inner blossoming
✨ Connecting with the Full Moon energy to align with this powerful time to set dreams, intentions, and cultivate purpose

Share in our sanctuary space and step into your body and let the Wood essence within you grow strong and flexible, while the moonlight illuminates your path. 🌿🌕

Goddess Sundari

Who Is the goddess SUNDARI

She is our shala and wellbeing space inspired namesake and her qualities my own hearfelt path and way where I have found true peace within myself. Jai Ma!

Our practice this week beautifully explores the wisdom and aspects of Sundari. In the yoga tradition, the goddesses can represent aspects of our inner knowledge, and our own innate qualities. They teach us often concepts within our own psyche or our own consciousness. The inner knowledge of the Divine Mother in her multiple forms (for all forms are her) allows us an opportunity to bring into our awareness and perhaps our lives and ways of living, different understandings about ourselves and the true nature of the universe.

Sundari is the form of the goddess that represents the essence of beauty that is all around us and shines through the light of our own consciousness.

Sundari teaches us 3 aspects of the goddess - Lalita, Tripura and Sundari.

Sundari herself is the inner beauty that is reflected into the outer world of form. She teaches us how to cleanse our filters of perception to discover and see beauty.

Lalita is the innocence, playfulness and joy that guides us out of spaces of suffering and back into the colour and sweetness of life.

Tripura represents the 3 cities or bodies of ourselves and beyond. The physical (body), subtle (mind and emotions) and causal (heart).

Sundari represents the ray of beauty that expresses itself through our consciousness. She is both the seer and the seen. She asks us to know ourselves as "I AM" and to see the I Am consciousness reflected in the world around us.

My photos this week are my "Sundari" highlights from yesterday with a beautiful gift and opening of time spent with my family on Monday. This is the essence and the remedy all in one.

As always classes remain Mondays 5.30pm Tuesdays 6.00pm and Wednesdays 9.30am. Bookings essential.

Navaratri & the Radiance of Goddess Parvati

Have you felt it?
The past two weeks have carried a potent charge—emotional exaggeration, disrupted sleep, digestive shifts, even conflict surfacing in relationships. Eclipse season stirs the depths, and this one has been no exception. (The journey of Sati perhaps.... keep reading below!)

Along with the Spring Equinox bringing balance and harmony to the earth, we enter the sacred portal of Navaratri! This is a vedic tradition that is celebrated around the world honouring the Divine Mother in her many aspects and forms — fierce, tender, wise, and wild.

This week at Sundara Yoga, we shall honour this tradition with the journey of Parvati. She is the aspect that represents the embodiment of devotion, transformation, and inner strength.

The story goes in Vedic lore, that Goddess Sati, is married to Shiva, but her father does not approve of this radical choice in a life partner. Feeling rejected Sati goes into a divine feminine rage, vows to be reborn to a dharmic father who supports her purpose and then immolates herself.
She is reborn as Parvāti, daughter of the mountain, with unwavering clarity and devotion and a clear divine purpose to again merge with her beloved Shiva. This rebirth of the Divine Mother marks the first day of Navaratri.

The Divine Mother can be likened to our story: the shedding of what no longer serves, the reclamation of purpose, the sacred reunion with our inner truth.
The Divine Mother moves through her sacred journey through 9 forms. Each form being a keystone of death and rebirth that happens not only life to life but from season to season.

Parvati's story reminds us that true power within ourselves is born from stillness, from the quiet commitment to our own becoming, our heart's desires. She withdrew from the world to cultivate her true essence, and emerged as Shakti—pure creative force.

Navarartri is a great time to cleanse.
Because Nature has already set the stage. As the Earth accelerates around the equinox, undigested matter from the eclipse season —physical, emotional, spiritual— has risen to the surface. If we honour this rhythm, this cycle we can release more deeply. If we resist, it can resettle in the same vulnerable places. Look out for a free ebook on How to cleanse being released later this week.

May this Navarātri be a time of prayerful, gentle reflection.
May you feel regenerated, renewed, reborn.

This week in our practice, we journey into the sacred days of Pitru Paksha, the Vedic time set aside to honour our ancestors.

Just as the banyan tree draws strength from its deep roots, so too do we carry the blessings — and sometimes the burdens — of those who came before us. In this season, we pause to give gratitude for the foundations laid by our elders, for their wisdom, sacrifices, and love. And we also open the way to release what no longer needs to be carried.

Aligned with this eclipse season, the doorway is wide for letting go of old energetic patterns inherited across generations — clearing the path for freedom, clarity, and renewal in our own lives.

✨ In class we will:

Move gently to awaken the body’s memory and lineage;
Breathe into release and expansion;
Hold space for gratitude, remembrance, and prayer.

You are invited to bring an ancestor to heart — perhaps by lighting a candle at home before or after class — and silently offering the mantra:

Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu
(May all beings everywhere be happy and free).

Together, we honour the past, release the old, and plant new blessings for the future.

This week we sat with the deep symbology of Ganesha, remover of obstacles, and welcomed this wisdom into our hearts. Now, as the moon wanes and the eclipse continues to cast their shadows, we enter Pitru Paksha — a sacred 16-day period for honouring our ancestors.

This is a time to pause and remember those who came before us… the ones whose love, sacrifice, and strength created the ground we now walk upon. Their blessings flow through our blood; their patterns echo in our lives. And in this powerful eclipse alignment, we are offered the chance to release any burdens or energetic imprints that no longer serve — clearing space for light, renewal, and freedom.

Pitru Paksha is both a time of gratitude and release. Gratitude for the foundation laid, and release of the threads that need to be gently unbound.

A simple and beautiful practice for these coming days:
Each evening, light a candle. Call to mind an ancestor or a loved one who has passed. Offer your remembrance, your graditute, your and if you feel called to you can also softly recite the mantra:

Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu
(May all beings everywhere be happy and free).

In this way, we honour the past, uplift the present, and bless the future.

Ganesha & the Eclipse Season

In the vedic calendar September holds a powerful stream of sacred observances - three celebrations of devotion remembrance and renewal all flow into each other. We are going to align with a celebration that actually has just finished, the sacred festival of Ganesha. The frequencies of Ganapati mantras bless new endeavours, open or close doors, clear the distortions of the mind and help us access the wellspring of wisdom, strength and courage within. We shall call upon Ganesha, the great remover of obstacles, guardian of wisdom, and gentle guide at life’s thresholds. Ganesha reminds us that every ending is also a beginning — that when something dissolves, space opens for clarity and renewal.

I could not ignore the alignment with celebrating Ganesha along with the power of the total lunar eclipse and coming eclipse season. In the Vedic tradition, eclipses are not a time to push ahead, but rather to pause, soften, and listen. When the guiding lights of the heavens are temporarily veiled, we are invited to turn inward, to release what no longer serves, and to rest in stillness so that wisdom can arise.

In our classes this week we will share some powerful symbolism of Ganesha and messages while touching on the Vedic meaning of this big eclipse season and of course continue to practice our deep grounding and centering to support us in this sacred and important time. A deep time for listening to our inner wisdom.

Please feel welcome to bring a candle to light up any darkness within, or to shine a light on anything that needs healing or to honour your own deep wisdom with an offering of a flower.
