The doTERRA AromaTouch Technique is a clinical approach to applying essential oils along energy meridians and visceral contact points of the back and feet to help balance the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems of the body; to aid in bringing the body back into balance from environmental factors such as stress, toxic insult, inflammation and autonomic imbalance. Essential oils are composed of tiny molecules that are small enough to penetrate the blood brain barrier, which to you means that using them actually produces healing behefits that many modern-day pharmaceuticals cannot. The human body contains 100 trillion cells. One drop of essential oil contains approximately 40 million trillion molecules. That's enough to cover every cell in our body with 40,000 molecules. It only takes one molecule of the right kind to open a receptor site for healing and alter cellular function. You can see why using even one drop or inhaling essential oil vapour can have a profound effect on your health. Using doTERRA's Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade essential oils with this application increases the benefits people experience in a profound way. Grounded in solid science and research, this technique is beneficial to anyone seeking to improve overall health and well-being, and provides another opportunity to emphasise the benefits of incorporating Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade essential oils in everyday living.

This week in yin — THE METAL ELEMENT

The wind has continued to bring the cold, and with it clouds, rain, and a certain stillness. And in that stillness, the air carries a sharpness that can suddenly cut right through you. According to the Taoist tradition, this is exactly as it should be.

This is the season of metal.

Metal is precise and precious. Clear-edged. It carries the quality of a cold, still morning — the kind that sharpens the mind and strips away everything that isn't essential. It asks us: what is of value? what is worth keeping? And what must be released?

Metal governs the lungs. Every inhale is an act of receiving. Every exhale, an offering back.

And within the lungs lives the Po — the corporeal soul, the part of us that is deep and embodied, that knows things the thinking mind never will. The Po doesn't analyse. It simply feels; it knows. It longs, instinctively and wordlessly, for connection with something greater — a reaching upward, toward something warm and luminous, like light finding gold.

We shall slow down, breathe consciously, and sit with our bodies — letting the sharpness of the season clarify rather than harden us. And in the stillness between one breath and the next, we shall listen for that quiet thread that connects us to something greater than ourselves.

Come in from the cold. Roll out your mat. Breathe.

✨ Akshaya Tritiya | Yin Yoga + Lakshmi Practice ✨

There are certain days in the year that carry a different kind of energy…
and Akshaya Tritiya is one of them.

This post is arriving a little later than planned…
because today ended up being one of those days that asked to be lived, not shared.

For me it has been a day of quiet alignment…
of noticing what matters…
Via remembering and connection feeling both my inner and outer worlds meet in a very real way. Akshaya’ means ‘that which never diminishes’… not just money or things, but energy, love, nourishment, and life itself.”

And my day feels exactly the essence of Akshaya Tritiya.

Known as the day of gold, it symbolises lasting abundance — not just in what we have, but in how we feel, live, and receive.

In yogic understanding, today is a rare moment where both the sun and the moon are strong…
our doing energy and our feeling energy in harmony.

✨ A beautiful time to begin something
✨ To set intentions
✨ To align with what you are ready to grow

In this special Yin class, we’ll work gently into the heart space, exploring the energy of Lakshmi — not just as external wealth, but as a deep sense of inner fullness.

This is a practice of:
🌿 softening into the heart
🌿 reconnecting with what already feels full and alive within you
🌿 allowing your intentions to gently rise and take shape

No forcing. No striving.
Just a spaciousness… where you can open, receive, and move in quiet alignment.

If you’re feeling the pull to pause, reconnect, or begin something new, even softly, this energy is still here to meet you.

What in your life feels like it has never diminished?

What if the most radical thing you could do this week… was simply exhale?

Autumn has a quiet intelligence. The trees don't fight the falling leaves — they release them. Completely. Without apology.

This week in our yin yoga practice we're working with the Lung and Large Intestine meridians — the energetic channels in Traditional Chinese Medicine that govern our capacity to take in what nourishes us, and release what no longer serves.

The lungs breathe in the crisp, clear qi of autumn. The large intestine lets go of what's no longer needed. Together, they ask the same question of us: are you able to do both?

Because grief is real. So is the weight of holding on — to old stories, old seasons, old versions of ourselves. In TCM, the lungs hold the emotions of grief and sorrow. But they are also the seat of inspiration — the word itself means to breathe in. When the chest opens, something else becomes possible too: wonder, aliveness, the quiet joy of a fresh inhale.

In this practice we'll move through the chest, shoulders, neck and arms — dissolving the places where we've been bracing, tensing, protecting. Breaking up stagnation so that energy can move freely again.

You don't have to be ready. You just have to be willing to breathe.

See you on the mat 🌿

Peaceful Mind ~ Vata Balance 🍂
Yin & Ayurveda | Autumn Grounding Practice

After weeks now of pretty consistent winds, a stillness has settled over us today — yet the effects linger. The air is drier, the mornings cooler, and the season has made its presence known. And with it, the rising of Vata dosha; the elements of air and space. This seasonal accumulation can leave us feeling scattered, restless and ungrounded and with a busy, windswept mind that struggles to find stillness.

In this week's Peaceful Mind practice, we weave together the slow, surrendering depth of Yin with the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda to gently pacify excess Vata — calming the nervous system, settling the mind and drawing you back into the steady, quiet presence of the earth beneath you.

Our postures will lovingly massage the lower abdomen and open the lower back — the home territory of Vata — stimulating the downward flow of Apana Vayu to release stored tension, subconscious stress and mental fatigue, and restore a deep sense of grounding.

We begin with a ritual touch — massaging the marma point Sthapani with grounding essential oils to calm the mind, soothe the nervous system and gently release fear, directly and intentionally, from the very start of our practice.

Come home to the present moment — that is where peace of mind lives. 🌿

The Wisdom of Autumn 🍂
Attune. Release. Breathe.

March carries us across the threshold from Summer into Autumn — a sacred passage where nature's energy begins its quiet return to the earth. 🌿

Over recent weeks we've moved through the stomach and spleen meridians, exploring what truly nourishes us — digesting not just food, but emotion, experience and thought. This week, we deepen that journey.

Autumn is a time of profound wisdom. A season that asks us to slow down, to come home to the earth, and to practice the art of letting go — releasing all that no longer feeds the body, mind, heart and soul.

In our practice this week we open the lung meridians — the breath of life — and gently compress the large intestine and colon. These are the organs of the season, and they carry the emotional qualities of courage, openness and the willingness to release.

We will also continue to tend to Vata Dosha, weaving in practices that keep us grounded, calm and in harmony with the season — in body, mind and soul.

🌕 Full Moon in Libra — Thursday
This Thursday's Purnima falls in Tula Rashi (Libra), ruled by Venus — the planet of beauty, balance and the heart. In Vedic astrology, the full moon illuminates the mind, so heightened emotions and deeper inner awareness are part of its gift and calls us toward our inner harmony and balance. Libra's energy asks us to weigh what we carry and to release with grace what no longer serves our balance. A perfect cosmic companion for our practice of letting go this week. 🌻
