Drop a dress size before Christmas? Here’s my thought… What if we climbed 4 mountains instead? Or anything else that just sounds freaken fun?!

What if, instead of obsessing over our so-called flaws and staying stuck in that ā€œkeep ourselves smallā€ mindset, we took up space and did something adventurous and exciting?

If you hate the path or the journey, I guarantee you won’t find joy at the destination. But when you embrace the journey—seeing it through fun, strength, and abundance—not only will you hit your goal, but you’ll also become the next-level version of yourself along the way.

This is where I come in.

Before Christmas, let’s work together to create a personalized plan that’s more than being smaller. I want to help you move with joy, tackle challenges that light you up, and feel confident as you level up your health and fitness.

Imagine finishing this year feeling stronger, more energized, and ready to take on whatever adventures are waiting for you in 2024.

Are you ready to stop shrinking and start thriving? Let’s make it happen! Drop 'adventure' in the comments below and I'll send you the deets —limited spots available. šŸ’ŖāœØ

I'm home!!

It's been 1.5 weeks of living in a house, which I totally appreciate the creature comforts.. but getting back on the trails today made my heart smile so big!

The same dirty boots, the same clothes we had been wearing for over a year (that I thought I wanted new ones because I was sick of them lol), the happy little feet running on the trail.. this is really where my home is at.

This is where I felt 'normal' 😜

Where in nature is your home?

Calorie counting is the pits! The mental effort causes stress, fatigue, and burnout!

Not to mention, the "calories in vs. calories out" equation isn’t valid when hormones, stress, or lack of sleep are in play.

Just because a certain food contains XX calories doesn’t mean your body can absorb or use all those calories. Even factors like the temperature of your food can alter the calorie count and absorption rate.

Equals = COMPLICATED AND UNRELIABLE.

What does matter is the quality of your food. Carbohydrates are not the enemy—but if you’re choosing refined, processed carbs instead of, say, vegetables, expect different results. Pesticides also cause inflammation and interfere with normal metabolism, so don’t forget to wash your produce!

What I’m finding, though, is that most women are really under-consuming protein. Without adequate protein, we tend to overeat other macronutrients, and our bodies start to break down our own muscle as a protein source.

We need muscles, ladies!

I’ve been trying a new protein drink recently, which is super handy for boosting my intake without needing to fire up the BBQ.
If you love soft-serve ice cream, you’ll want to try this too!

Comment "whey" or "plant-based," and I’ll send you a link to my favorite protein drinks—both are loaded with leucine (an amino acid that supports protein synthesis, tissue regeneration, and metabolism).

I'm not a big gadget lover.. I don't like measuring all my steps, and calories and kilometres and heart rate at all times.

It takes the joy out of movement for me. But I will use them to get a gauge of where I'm at, build up my body intuition, then use that as a guide to know how it 'feels'

With all the gear available the BIGGEST measure that gets missed is your cycle! Not just noting the arrival of your period but how your motivation, energy, mood (and more), changes over the month.

If you are not tracking, this is the most powerful data you can use to know your body better and optimise your training.

Do you track? Keen to starting recording and getting to know your body better?

Just trying to get a sneaky pre-hike photo and getting photo bombed

šŸ“ Shipsterns Bluff, Port Arthur
8km, 4 hours with some time to enjoy the waves

Loved the eucalypt woods, wild winds, spring flowers and pink bush berries!

And a really quiet track ā¤ļø Well worth a visit

These are our bibles at the moment..

My fav kind of hikes are loops or A-to-B hikes rather than 'there & back'

There-&-back are more of a mental game.. when you get to the end you feel like you 'arrived' but then you need to muster up the mental energy do it all again (even when you know you are more than physically capable)

But the spectacular views are ALWAYS worth it

Do you feel the same or have a preferred style of hike?

Nervous to head back to the tent?? YUP

Whenever we’ve had a housesit, or stayed with family/friends we have lapped up the comfy bed and walls… and we honestly get a bit nervous again about heading back to the tent.

BUT it’s always amazing. We all slept so well and solid last night, cozy as hell and couldn’t be happier.

Plus we’ve had spectacular weather the last 2 days, which has certainly helped paint on the smiles.

We LOVE Port Arther area and so glad we made it over his way. So much to explore (and eat).

AND today we did our first Tassie cold plunge. It was beyond freezing, but it’s done. A bunch of young men saw our kids jumping in and followed us straight after lol

What a glorious day for the šŸ“ Tasman National Park - walk to Crescent Bay, Port Arthur

2 hours, mostly flat meandering along the coast and even a blow hole half way.

Back to camping and loving the change in weather šŸ˜…

Yesterday's fail turned into a total winner!

We had plans to visiting Hastings caves and thermal springs for my son's birthday, but there was a huge storm the night before (continued strong winds) and the power was out.

We didn't know until we got there, that the whole area was closed ... Hmm what do we do now? Pretty much at the bottom of Tassie and didn't want to spend all of his birthday in the car.

So we pulled out the hiking book and found an incredible sneaky location šŸ“ Mystery Creek

Holy wow!!
Incredible ferny walk.. boots are essential for the muddy sections, plus a river crossing, plus gorgeous caves with glow worms AND 4 lyre bird sighting!!!

My 'fav hikes of Tasmania' list is going to be impossible to narrow down

Must see on your next Tassie Adventure? šŸ“ Mt Hartz National Park.

Incredible snow experience and simply gorgeous

It was pretty wild, so we will be back to complete one of the longer hikes, but also several lovely short options

We need to upgrade a few pieces of gear.

Chris & I need new shoes, we need waterproof gloves & waterproof pants and I think we'll be much more comfortable for the conditions ahead

Fav Day Hikes in Hobart!!
Save this post if you plan on visiting one day

The neighbour at our housesit, popped her head over the fence and asked ā€˜do you like walking’… Hell Yeah was our quick response.

She started off rattling off a bunch of her favourite walks… and Im pleased to say we had already ticked off every single one she recommended… She was quite surprised, but she had no idea how much we love hiking.

For day hikes with our kids we generally aim for 1.5-2 hours and 5-8km

šŸ“ Truganini – Beautiful upward winding mountain climb but not crazy steep. Stunning views and loads of wildlife and birds.

šŸ“ Waterworks – love the changing landscape and great views

šŸ“ Taroona Cliff top walk - it starts with a very steep descent then assent up huge staircase, but then is very easy flat walking. Loads of incredible birds

šŸ“ Kunanyi / Mt Wellington (we didn’t explore the top due to snowy conditions)

āž”ļø Fern Tree area (so many interwoven hikes to explore) – Ferns and stream heaven!

āž”ļø The Springs is also a great base for easy day hikes – Sphinx rock was a good easy stroll

šŸ“ South Arm – prepare to be blown away on a windy day but it sure as hell made us feel ALIVE. Also spotted Echidna, and lots of rabbits around here for our bunny loving daughter.

That should keep me busy! Let me know if I missed your favourite
