My go to when I NEED something tasty and fake-awayish is a quesadilla! It’s really a chicken salad wrap but once you heat it and cut it and add some Greek yoghurt and sriracha as dipping sauce it completely changes the boring old wrap game 🥳 Kids will also absolutely love this one and they can even make their own. Grab all of the veggies out, some cheese, some yoghurt or spread and some protein like chicken, fish or tofu and you’re set!

Nom, nom, nom. I know, it looks boring af but honestly my fave salad combos are the ones where I pull everything out of the fridge and just mix and match. Oh and it’s all about the dressing. Todays is Greek yoghurt, hommus, lime, a dash of balsamic and s+p 👌 The rest- cos lettuce, artichoke hearts, radish, whole grain pasta w/pesto (I get my pesto homemade from cause I’m sh #%T at it - it is AMAZING), and a bit of goats cheese. We often think we need to make a ‘meal’ but you can sometimes just through random things in a bowl and add a dressing and it just works. It can be more nutritionally balanced this way too 👌 Has anyone got their own delicious go to salad? 🥗💕

I used to hate broccoli! Same goes for Brussel sprouts. I always assumed that they needed to be consumed no smaller than fist size after being boiled until any and all texture was gone. Oh and definitely no herbs/spices. This was my mothers only way of cooking most vegetables really. Sorry Ma, everything else you were great at but damn girl, green veg was not your thang! Thankfully now, I rarely go a day without broccoli in something. Brussel sprouts are a little more sporadic but they’re also now a part of my life. The reason… I learnt how to prepare them. Firstly prepare on buying otherwise it is definitely staying in that salad drawer for the week! Slice the trees until it’s all crumbly and easily eaten, possibly steam or have raw and season with a little olive oil and herbs. Chuck it in a salad, on a pizza, or even mashed into potato. Then smash some of the stem in a shake and some into the dogs food. Same goes for Brussel sprouts- they are amazing raw or steamed!! Did you know broccoli has more protein than most other vegetables? It also has lots of other goodness like fibre, vitamin c, k, iron and potassium. Hence why when I’m sick, I eat the s**t out of the stuff. I can manage to put it in anything. So if like me you’ve always hated broccoli and Brussel sprouts, do me a favour and give them another chance ✌️🫶

Back to school tomorrow so prep is in full swing today. This baked oats breaky is unbelievably tasty and so so easy.
Recipe:
1 -2 🍌 mashed
1 cup oats
2 tbsp chia seeds
1/4 cup 🫐 (any berries)
1/2 cup 🥛
Some extra like: cacao crunch, pumpkin seeds, maple syrup

Mash your narnies into the base, layer with oats, chia seeds and cover with milk and mix. Top with berries and extras. Bake on 180 for 25 minutes and voila, breakfast done for the week 🙌👌

Ps. Some Greek yoghurt for serving is also delish!

Hi all, I’m back! Sorry I’ve been completely MIA lately, I forgot how tiring this full-time teaching gig is 😬 I know I’ve been doing workshops and seeing my regular clients but I’ve kind of had to ditch the social media stuff on nutrition to stay focused on other things more pressing. However, I’m back! School has finally settled to a point where I’m not marking all weekend 🤮 So I’ve got time for all of you! I’ve spoken to a few people lately about some gut issues so if you’re one of those people now is the time to book in with me. I’m also now offering more options- such as an 100% online consult 🙌🥳 All you have to do is fill out a questionnaire, send it back to me and I will send you through a comprehensive personalised food plan within a week (I’ll even include some exercise tips). All this with no face to face contact, a bit sad I know but life can be crazy and sometimes we just need to to flick something off and have it come back, no appointment necessary! I’m also now doing a complete takeover- I will do your shop, organise your kitchen, prep the food/meals and set everything up for the week ahead 🙌 If this sounds like something you could be interested in please let me know and I might need a Guinea pig or two to start with so you could get a little discount! 😉✌️💕

I’m not the biggest fan of the old jar sauce but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do and if that’s the case give your money to Aussie farmers ✌️ Is Lego’s the one that has organic sauces now too?

Here’s why Leggo's gets my vote. As the percentage of ‘Australian grown’ ingredients in many brands gets smaller and smaller, Leggo's remains steadfast in their commitment to Australian grown.

Dolmios (who are owned by Mars) have gone from 70% Australian ingredients down to being less than 10% (so could just be a 1% local basil or added ‘Australian’ water 🤷‍♀️).

And let’s be honest about the taste over the years…it’s made that Dolmio grin turn into a Dolmio grimace 😬 (ah man, Dolmio are going to hate me for that one)(I haven’t had a cease and desist letter in awhile, I think I’m due for another!)

This Leggo's pasta sauce is 98% Australian grown. Their tomato paste is 100% Australian grown (which gets the rare ‘Product of Australia’ title)

In 1995, Leggo’s was bought by Simplot Australia which is a subsidiary of the American company - J R Simplot. So it’s not 100% Australian owned.

Would it be better if Leggo's was still wholly Australian owned, yeah it would. But does it really matter when this company continues to make an exceptional commitment to supporting Australian farmers and investing in Australian manufacturing, nah not really.

The goal of is to make easy, ‘do-able’ changes that will – collectively -make a difference. This swap will do that, so let’s focus on what we can do and hopefully it sends a message to other companies to keep their head in the game or we walk!!

Have you started using a tongue scraper? Tongue scraping dates back to ancient times in India and has always played a part in Ayurveda but it’s benefits are now being recognised in the west. Ayurveda holds that the tongue shares a direct connection to several of the body’s vital organs, including the heart, kidneys, liver, lungs and stomach. What’s more, Ayurveda teaches that the tongue reflects the health and well-being of these organs so regularly checking your tongue can be a great gauge for your overall health. A tongue scraper gently removes plaque, bacteria and toxins from the tongue and therefore, keeps them from entering the body. Those coming along to our workshop on Saturday will be receiving a tongue scraper and I hope it becomes a part of their daily routines as it is in mine. If you’d like more info please get in touch x
