I went and had me a 40th birthday party last weekend and I’m still buzzing. Is there anything better than having your favourite people in one place? Family and friends came from down south and closer to home and I’m so grateful to have been able to spend this time with everyone 💫 As you can see it was a 90s theme and Cher, Baby Spice, Mia Wallace, Chuck Norris and Pammy turned up! How good is a night of dancing and just being unapologetically yourself around your loves 🥳 The last of the crew flew out today (the parentals) and today I’m doing a big clean out and getting myself back to routine. I’ve just been thinking I’d be so sad normally after a week of fun and then it all stops but it hits differently now. I’ve loved every moment and now I’m so ready to get back to walks, gym, eating clean and just being with my girls. Bring on 40 🥳🥳🙌🙌🤍🤍 Thank you my faves for making the night/week so special xx

I have my parents staying with me at the moment and they buy supermarket bread. They’ve never been too keen on my nutrition advice 😅 In saying that, this bread by all means, is not the worst thing in the world. It’s also incredibly more-ish and tasty af! The reason I can no longer buy supermarket bread is because I eat it and I want more and more and more. I had a nostalgic couple of pieces this morning with butter and Vegemite and afterwards I was STARVING! Thankfully I’d prepped a healthy lunch so I just had to hold on for dear life until 12pm. I could have had 10 pieces and I still wouldn’t have been satisfied. Reasons… Firstly, no protein and little fibre to keep me fuller for longer. If I had have had my sardine spread it may have tied me over. The balance of fats, carbs, protein is so important, particularly for breaky. Secondly, refined flour spikes blood sugar and then it drops quickly, making you hungry. So, in future, I will stick to my slow fermented sourdough if I want bread (love the stuff) and will include fibre and protein always ✌️

For most of my life I’ve been someone who just gets from A → B as quickly as possible.

Work.
Relationships.
Cleaning.
Exercise.
Conversations.
I could go on…

I’m always trying to move through things quickly and efficiently… onto the next thing.

But when you live like that, you often miss the most important part - the middle. The journey.

I think that’s probably why gratitude, being proud of myself, or even just feeling content with where I am has sometimes felt hard.

Lately on my walks I’ve been trying something different.
Slowing down.

Looking up.
Looking down.

Walking along the beach.
Swimming in the ocean even if it ‘slows the walk down.’
Stopping when something catches my eye.

Because when you slow down… you start to see things you would have completely walked past.

Little magical things.

A reminder that the journey was never something to rush through in the first place. 🌊

Now I’m worried this an obnoxious, how good is my life post 😖 But you know, it’s for me, I’ll look back and laugh at myself. Did anyone else have these ridiculous thoughts going into 40? When you’ve literally worked to build your dream life and you sort of have it? Like, what am I worried about now? Get over yourself?! Anywho, I hope you all have a dreamy day like mine 💫🤍

So cute though 🤍

February is about food.

Not restriction.
Not perfection.
Just eating in a way that supports my walks, training and long work days.

This is what I actually eat most days:

Breakfast
Blueberries
Greek yoghurt
Chia
Flaxseed
Half slice sourdough with sardine pâté or eggs

Lunch / Dinner (mix and match)
Rice
Tuna (mixed with yoghurt, mustard, onion, spinach, crispy chilli)
Chopped vegetables - baked or steamed
Seaweed
Chicken
Curry (eat some, freeze some)
Eggs when I’m tired
Easy Bakes- ramen, vege, chicken and veg

Snacks
Hommous
Seaweed crackers
Fruit

Water infused with lemon, lime and ginger.

Nothing fancy.
Nothing expensive.
Nothing complicated.

Just whole foods, protein, fibre and things I can repeat.

When it’s prepped, I eat better.
When I eat better, I feel better.

That’s it.

There’s no big secret.

It’s just the boring things.

Walking.
Eating properly.
Sleeping.
Saying no more.
Protecting my energy.

I used to think I needed a full reset to feel better.
A new plan. A new routine. Something dramatic.

But honestly… my life feels worse when I stop doing the basics.

Not because I’m chasing weight loss.
Not because I’m trying to be perfect.

Just because I feel clearer. Lighter. More like myself.

So I keep doing them.

Not perfectly.
Just consistently.

Sometimes consistency is just showing up. Show up everyday, big or small.

Goodbye snake era.
Apparently we’re horses now.

Less shedding.
More running. I’m going to say moving. Moving forward, whatever that might look like.

You stop.
You slow down.
You start again.

That’s what habits feel like too.
Some days I’m motivated. Some days I’m not.
But I still go.

It’s not about never stopping.
It’s about not staying stopped.

Week 2 and there’s no starting over.
Just tightening the system.

It doesn’t have to be dramatic.
It’s repetitive.
It’s boring.
It’s planned.

I don’t prep because I’m motivated.
I prep because I know how I feel when I don’t.
Future Liv will thank me.

Becoming her doesn’t happen by accident 🤍

My go to when I NEED something tasty and fake-awayish is a quesadilla! It’s really a chicken salad wrap but once you heat it and cut it and add some Greek yoghurt and sriracha as dipping sauce it completely changes the boring old wrap game 🥳 Kids will also absolutely love this one and they can even make their own. Grab all of the veggies out, some cheese, some yoghurt or spread and some protein like chicken, fish or tofu and you’re set!
