It is with great sadness that we have to advise that Dr Carmon Guy is taking an extended break from her practice at Barrier Reef Medical Centre. This will be for an indefinite period.

We thank Dr Carmon for her contribution here at Barrier Reef Medical Centre and wish her all the very best with her other endeavours.

We have male and female GP's who are available to take on the care of Dr Carmon's patients. Please phone our clinic if you wish to book an appointment with another Doctor or book online via Health Engine.

Meet Dr Dallas Smith. Dr Dallas is taking on new patients.

Dr Dallas Smith has relocated to Cairns after working for several years across general practice and hospital positions in Victoria.

He has a background in emergency medicine before transitioning to general practice.

He has previously supervised medical students and GP registrars in clinical placements, and has also served as an examiner for medical students at Monash University.

Dr Smith has an interest in primary care and preventative medicine, in addition to sports medicine and men's health. He is able to perform minor surgical procedures such as skin excisions, abscess drainage and wedge resection of ingrown toenails.

In his spare time he enjoys running, swimming and exploring the wonderful things Cairns has to offer.

Meet Dr Rob Welsh who recently joined Barrier Reef Medical Centre.

Dr Rob is taking on new patients.

Rob welcomes all aspects of general practice, he has an interest in preventive care and managing chronic medical conditions. Rob also has an interest in dermatology, with the detection and early treatment of skin cancer.
