The nervous system shapes how you experience life. Not just your stress levels, but your energy, your motivation, your relationships, your ability to make decisions, and your capacity to follow through on change.

A lot of women are trying to move forward, create something new, or live differently, but they’re doing it from a system that’s exhausted, overstimulated, or stuck in survival. When that’s the baseline you’re living from, even simple things can feel heavy and a lot to ask.

The nervous system responds before we think, because its first response is to read safety and threat. It decides whether we mobilise, shut down, or stay steady, long before logic gets a say. That’s why willpower doesn’t always work, why motivation disappears, and why we can feel overwhelmed even when nothing really big is happening.

This is why I’m running The Field of the Nervous System, a three-hour workshop to help you understand the system you’re living from, so change can feel like it happens easier rather than feeling forced.

FEBRUARY - INSIGHT

January was about grounding, building a steady foundation in the body and nervous system, February is for making space.

As routines return and life becomes fuller again, this month focuses on reducing internal noise so insight can arise naturally.

Not through overthinking, but through making space, enough space to see and feel clearer.

This February we’ll work with practices that support the body’s elimination pathways and restore clean internal flow. When the system is less congested, energy moves more efficiently. The mind becomes quieter, and it becomes easier to recognise what is true.

Insight isn’t always about adding something new, often it’s the moment you realise you’ve been living a certain way out of habit, expectation, or survival, and you begin to ask a more honest question: Is this the way I want to continue?

Or is there another way to do this that feels more aligned with who I am now?

Starting something new doesn’t need more force, it needs more space. 🌿

Change asks your nervous system to do something different, and the breath is often the first place we can meet that shift.

When we bring awareness to the breath, we begin to interrupt stress patterns, create steadiness in the body, and give ourselves a clearer place to respond from.

Try one minute of breath awareness today: sit quietly and gently notice your breathing, nothing to change, nothing to label, just awareness.

Small shifts are how the nervous system learns it’s safe to change.

Most of the changes we’re trying to make in life don’t begin with doing more.

They begin with coming back to awareness of the breath, and for many of us, that awareness takes practice and sometimes it asks for stillness, and stillness isn’t always easy.

Busy lives, stress, and long held patterns can make it difficult to slow down enough to feel, and bring awareness to how we’re breathing.

Yet the breath is deeply influential, it shapes how the nervous system responds to stress, change, emotional load, and expansion. When we learn to work with the breath, rather than override it, we build real capacity over time.

The Breath Class is a weekly return to the basics. A space to practise breath awareness and nervous-system-supportive breathing, and to build simple, practical tools you can use in everyday life, especially when things feel full.

Nothing to fix, just practice, support, and steadiness.

This is an informative, reflective space for understanding how the nervous system shapes the way you experience life. Rather than fixing or pushing through what you feel, we’ll explore how the system works, why certain patterns repeat, and why change can feel hard even when you want it.

This is not a therapy session and not a yoga class, there is no requirement to share anything personal. It’s a space to listen, understand, and take what’s useful.

The Shade Tree & Studio Avasa

Thursday nights are an invitation to slow everything down. This sound relaxation is a shared offering with Cheryl from The Shade Tree, bringing together the depth of the gong and the healing tones of crystal sound bowls.

We’ll begin with gentle pranayama to help the body arrive and the nervous system soften, before settling into an extended sound journey. The evening will close with mantra to support grounding and re-orientation, allowing the effects of sound to land and the system to return to a more natural internal rhythm.

Divinity is not a belief, it is a state of inner authority.

Right now the world is shedding an old skin, and many of the systems we have lived inside for generations are losing coherence. People feel this in their bodies as anxiety, restlessness, grief, exhaustion, and a quiet sense that something no longer fits. Nothing is wrong with you, you are living inside a transition.

Kundalini Yoga exists for moments like this, not to make life comfortable, but to keep the nervous system coherent while identity, direction and meaning are being reorganised. When the body is regulated, you stop collapsing into fear and you stop abandoning yourself to stay safe.

You begin to feel your own inner authority again, and that is what divinity looks like when it is embodied. Not a belief system, not a story, but a nervous system that no longer needs to perform, please or disappear.

This is the work at Studio Avasa, we are not here to escape the world, we are here to stay present while it changes, so you can meet what is next without losing who you are.
