Kids Yoga Cairns

Kids Yoga Cairns Kids Yoga Cairns empowers children to reach their full potential. Yoga kids are calm, confident, happy, strong, focused and resilient.

We provide yoga, meditation and mindfulness training to groups, child care centres, schools and individuals. Yoga is a vehicle for kids and teens of all ages to thrive in an often stressful and demanding world. Children and teenagers today often live in a 'hurry up' world of busyness, working parents, school demands, competitive sport, social media, video games and for our older kids even work. This constant pressure can become stressful causing illness, depression, anxiety, fatigue, sore and tense muscles and insomnia. Yoga can help counter this pressure by teaching them techniques for self care, relaxation and confidence. Yoga helps kids increase:
self-esteem
body awareness
coordination
concentration
confidence
mindfulness

At 53 & counting I feel this today. ♥️
~~~
I asked an elderly man once what it was like to be old and to know the majority of his life was behind him. He told me that he has been the same age his entire life. He said the voice inside of his head had never aged. He has always just been the same boy. His mother's son. He had always wondered when he would grow up and be an old man. He said he watched his body age and his faculties dull but the person he is inside never got tired. Never aged. Never changed. Our spirits are eternal. Our souls are forever. The next time you encounter an elderly person, look at them and know they are still a child, just as you are still a child and children will always need love, attention and purpose. —Unknown
Here are a few photos from my last Kid's Yoga course held last term. It was a small group of simply gorgeous young people, I thoroughly enjoyed teaching each and every one of them. The biggest reward was to see them finally learn how to settle and find stillness. 😊
Teach your kids these three simple rules in life.
1. If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it.
2. If you don't ask, the answer is always no.
3. If you don't step forward, you're always in the same place.
Before you know it they're all grown up and then all you can do is hope they remember some of the things you've taught them.
This is a photo of my son Oliver (now 18), such a beautiful photo of an amazing person.
We all want our children to be successful and happy right? Seeing them fail and fall can be heartbreaking but is it a necessary part of growing up? The Child Mind Institute reports that learning how to fail is an important part of growing and it should not be avoided.
By showing kids that failure is nothing to be afraid of and helping them to bounce back from disappointment they increase their resilience and confidence.
'Michael Jordan, one of the world’s greatest athletes, has spent years preaching the importance of losing. Jordan has spoken extensively about how perseverance and resilience in the face of challenges on and off the court are what have made him a winner.'
Help kids learn to fail. Child Mind Institute provides information on how children can learn from failure and parents can help them become resilient, self-confident adults.
