Please consider these 3 points on your next referral:

1.Best-fit matching rapport - prioritise participant outcomes and case complexity for reports.

2. Experience & approval rates — especially in FNQ where service scarcity & cultural context are significant.

3. Price-only engagement risks poorer long-term outcomes, higher plan reviews, and increased system cost.

In FNQ, my NDIS rate — despite being the first clinical NDIS-registered provider is the same as that of new graduate clinics. Meanwhile, OT colleagues in a metro area with comparable qualifications are paid for their experience. AHPRA will also not allow a report be completed in a small time frame that is clinically unsafe.

At what point did the NDIA become immune to administrative law? This is an abdication of statutory duty.

Section 17A of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal Act exists for a reason. Section 4.3 of the NDIS Act 2013 mandates “reasonable and necessary supports.”
But here we are deleting the right to contest funding.
The NDIS was never perfect but now it’s not even lawful.
