Aesthetics Conference 2025 at The Sofitel in Sydney. Nurse Sam and I are back after spending the weekend learning about the latest trends and techniques for aesthetic treatments with Australia's leading cosmetic doctors. Organised by Dr Liew a world famous plastic surgeon in Sydney with live training demonstrations on stage with Dermatologists including Dr Cara McDonald, Dr Davin Lim, Dr Amanda Ong and key speakers from Korea as well as a professor from Thailand. Always good to revise techniques and also see what global trends are. Dr Liew is a fantastic speaker and teacher. I particularly found the last session useful which was with the panel of international doctors giving their advice on ways to stimulate collagen production with injectables as well as combining with energy devices which were already doing. Interesting to see recommendation to use the skin booster Byryzn post laser which I trialled a few months ago with amazing results. Looking forward to sharing new knowledge learned and regenerative techniques to rejuvenate the face and neck. Dr Ro and Nurse Sammy. 🙂

Non surgical rhinoplasty using threads. Here we have a client with concerns about a dropping nose tip that she was considering surgery for. After consultation and ensuring there were no other psychological issues she was deemed suitable for nose threads. The procedure was completed within 30 minutes and she now has a more lifted tip with indirect effect of straightening her bridge. Overall she was very happy with the outcome at a fraction of the price of surgery and with minimal downtime or pain. Call 4050 7555 to enquire. Dr Ro

Finally here! The first clinic in Australia to place an order for the 8 in 1 new skin treatment taking Korea by storm! Dr Ro has already trialled it combining with fractional Erbium laser peel with who's skin today was more youthful, tighter and less pigmented. As this is not an S4 prescribed medication we can discuss the ingredients which include collagen stimulating, hydrating and brightening compounds. We are looking forward to seeing results in combination with energy based treatments for optimal results. As the first clinic in Australia to place an order we will be launching some special launch offers for combination package treatments. For more information dm us here. Dr Ro and Nurse Sammy

We haven't done many posts on social media here at CCC of late not just due to new guidelines from AHPRA but honestly we've been so busy! Our client has kindly agreed to share this photo of before a single treatment and a few days after treatment with Dr Ro. The purpose of this post is educational in that she had combination therapies to address her lines around her mouth known as accordion or smile lines. These can be tricky to treat using solely injectable fillers which can cause puffiness and reduced muscle movement which looks a bit "stiff" In this case I used tumescent anaesthesia with subcision to free up the deep lines or rhytides. This was then followed by use of a prescription only treatment then overlaid with ablative Erbium laser treatment directly into the lines to create tissue contracture. The results will improve over time from new collagen formation post subcision and laser. Ultracel Q plus Hifu is then advised to create more tissue contracture from new collagen formation. Remember that lines are a symptom of several underlying tissue changes involving skin, muscles, ligaments and bone. We have to address all different layers using varying techniques for optimal outcomes and longevity. For queries regarding this please email at info@ccclinic.com.au or call 4050 7555 to book in. Dear clients at CCC I will be speaking at the Innovation in Health Symposium on Saturday June 21st at The Hilton Hotel in Cairns which promises to be a very interesting day of presentations by leaders in healthcare. Please have a look at the list of speakers that include CEOs of Cairns and Torres Strait Hospital and Hinterland Health Services as well as from the NQ Primary Health Network. There are also presentations around the use of AI and embracing technology in healthcare. I will be presenting around this area along with Dr Vin from FNQH Skin Cancer Centre and Dr Sorensen Plastic Surgeon. I will discuss the use of the devices I use in clinic which may not be known to perhaps more conventional health care providers. I will also be focussing on the greatest technology of all....that is the human body and using devices to harness the healing power that already exists within us. Personally this excites me perhaps more than injecting synthetic materials as there is a reference and reverence to the sanctitude of the divine wisdom that each and every one of us holds within that cannot be replicated in a lab. However we can refine and process these biological materials to be more potent using machines. Following mynrecent training in Italy in biologics I will also be speaking about regenerative medicine and also developments in stem cell technology that we can all use in skin, hair, joints, nerves and even sexual function. If you wish to attend please message me and I can send you a 10% discount code. See you there! Dr Ro

I've just completed the Master Course in Regenerative Medicine involving biologic facelift with fat derived biologics, PRP and exosomes with the European College of Aesthetic Medicine and Surgery that took place in Milan in Italy. The lecturer and course medical director was Professor Max Brambilla who was former head of plastic surgery at one of Milan's hospitals, lecturer in facial/ breast/ gynaecological and paediatric surgery as well as going to Africa for humanitarian work. Quite an incredible surgeon with passion, curiosity, science and a fabulous bed side manner! He's at the cutting edge of research in regenerative medicine and surgery having written chapters in various reference text books on lipofilling as well as research papers with academics in regenerative research such as Dr's Guy and Jeremy Magalon. To see these procedures being performed and actual clinical results was a real privilege. This training was hands on with 8 to 9 cases per day. All of my international colleagues on the course were specialists mostly in plastic surgery and I was the only non surgical doctor. It was great to share information across disciplines and learn what current trends are across the world especially the clinical gold nuggets from Professor Max who has so much knowledge to share. Currently in Australia we are behind the rest of the world in regenerative medicine not just in aesthetics but also in orthopaedics/ pain management. These treatments using high dose prp/ exosomes/ concentrated platelets/ stromal vascular tissue and stem cells look very promising across multiple specialities to help repair the body and bring tissues back to health. Whilst clinical research has perhaps been limited in the past we are seeing more and more high quality data coming out showing these treatments to have efficacy with minimal side effects as they are from your own body. I feel we will see growing public interest in these type of treatments not just for aesthetics but to support the body as we age. I'm honestly so excited to bring these treatments back to Australia and be part of an international team of passionate and caring doctors/ research scientists. Dr Ro 💫

Just as a piston in an engine needs oil lubrication to function normally and avoid clanging noises so too do our joints and skin. The body produces hyaluronic acid that does just this function however as we age these levels decrease and not only result in ageing skin but also ageing joints with pain, crepitus and stiffness. At CCC we offer ultrasound guided hydroviscosupplementation using synthetic lubricant for osteoarthritis in joints. With many published trials supporting these injections the typical duration for reduction in pain is around 18 months from one injection. We can inject large joints such as knees, hips and shoulders as well as smaller joints like elbows and thumbs. Some private health funds will pay for these treatments as will DVA. Combine with high dose PRP for optimal results to regenerate the joint. Using techniques from aesthetics with ultra fine needles patients report minimal if any pain during the procedure with results felt almost immediately. These regenerative treatments also have evidence in not just osteoarthritis but also with acute or chronic inflammation such as tennis elbow, frozen shoulder, bursitis and tendinitis. Currently Australia is about 10 years behind the USA in orthobiologics but we will see a growing interest in these treatments with an ageing population and also potential side effects of cortisone injections and surgery. Now available at CCC. Doctor only suspension lifting threads. These threads contain collagen stimulating compounds that stimulate the skin to produce collagen in vectors that then work to support the face and help reduce lines and laxity. These lifting threads use collagen stimulation and subdermal anchoring to lift as well as long coiled nano springs around the mouth/ marionette lines/ lip border to lift and tighten as well as imprive skin texture. Typically we would recommend doing this procedure once the skin and supporting tissues are healthy after a few energy treatments such as erbium laser/ Ultracel Q plus Hifu/Vivace fractional rf microneedling/ High dose platelet rich plasma. These threads really do work with longevity of around 2 years or even longer if energy devices used alongside. Please check the education of any healthcare practitioner doing lifting threads as they are a surgical procedure with risk of infection and complications as any surgery. Also check that the clinic rooms meet Queensland infection control policy with sealed vinyl flooring and hands free taps etc. For more information about non surgical face lifting treatment planning please call us on 4050 7555 or email us at info@ccclinic.com.au. We're looking for 5 models for improvement of loose skin around the neck! No S4 medications involved so we can state what the treatment is. After the very positive feedback following combination energy devices for eye bags we are now extending the treatment area options to necks which can often can be quite difficult to treat effectively given sun damage and skin thinning with time. We are now looking for 5 models with skin laxity in the neck region and we will be using combination therapies to include the Ultracel Q+ HIFU, MCL31 Dermablate Erbium laser and PurePRP/PPP system to regenerate the skin from the inside. Please email us at info@ccclinic.com.au for full details. Dr Ro and Nurse Sam.

There has been recent media coverage of telehealth consultations for cosmetic treatments and possibly adverse events. Often these telehealth/ prescribing doctors gave little to no experience in cosmetic medicine and also may not have adequate medical indemnity under cosmetic practice cover which ranges from $25,000 to $50,000 per year. If you or anyone you know has any feedback or have experienced adverse outcomes following a telehealth cosmetic consultation with a doctor with treatment by a nurse please DM me. I was interviewed today by the media who are looking for anonymous patient feedback around this. Dr Ro
