There are often too many barriers in place for our neurodivergent kids to actually get what they need at school.

Needing to ask to access their accommodations? Drawing attention to themselves in front of the class? Barrier.

Needing to finish work before they can use their sensory tools? Barrier.

Being told off for speaking up? Big barrier.

Being given reluctant permission to access their accommodations? Horrible. And huge barrier.

I'd love to see class-wide systems in place that help all kids advocate for whatever needs they have.

Can we?
