🚨 Two different services. One street. Here’s how to tell them apart!

We’ve heard there’s been some confusion between the Cairns South Medicare Urgent Care Clinic and the Cairns South Health Facility - and we’re here to help clear things up. 🧭

These services are located on the same street in Edmonton, but they offer very different types of care:

✅ For urgent, non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries
✅ Open extended hours, 7 days a week (including public holidays)
✅ Australian Government service

🚨 Important Health Reminder 🚨
If you are experiencing chest pain, please call 000 immediately or go straight to the Emergency Department. Chest pain can be a sign of a serious or life-threatening condition that requires urgent hospital-level care.

👉 Cairns Urgent Care Clinic is here to help with non-life-threatening conditions when you’re unable to see your regular GP. However, we are not a substitute for emergency services.

✅ For your safety, please remember:

Urgent Care is designed for conditions that are not life-threatening but cannot wait for a GP appointment.

When you visit our clinic, you’ll be triaged by a healthcare professional who assesses how urgent your condition is. This process ensures those with serious or time-sensitive concerns are treated first. 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗯𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁 — and know that you’ll be seen as soon as we can. Urgent Care is for situations requiring prompt attention but are not life-threatening emergencies.

The Cairns South Medicare Urgent Care Clinic offer:

Bulk billing (bring your Medicare card) Overseas travellers (bring travel insurance documents)
Walk-in access, no appointment needed
Extended hours every day, 365 days a year
Care from GPs and nurses
