Well our wonderful ‘old school’ aka Inching Closer didn’t have much luck in the Cleveland Bay at Townsville on Saturday. Jumping from the carpark onto a hard track, getting his hind legs knocked out from underneath him after the start to then being caught 4 deep nearly the entire, to the race being extremely fast paced that they broke the track record, he really had no hope. He was prepared once again amazingly by Mark and pulled up really well considering all the odds he faced from the get go. Thank you to Olivia Kendal for taking care of him, you did a great job of that love. We did hope the old boy would have been able to add the Cleveland Bay to his wins as he deserved it, he has been a true warrior this prep and unfortunately has had a heap not go right for him during his last few races. Cant wait to see that all turn around again for the old boy.
Also thank you to the Queen of Cluden Mrs Merle Alford (Mum Merle) for going out of her way and attending the barrier draw for us, we love you and thank you to Mark and Maria Griffin for arranging it, we appreciate everything you guys do for us and our little stable. Also thank you to his connections. ❤️🖤🤍

Wong Way ran over 1400 in the BM60 to tail off at the 200 due to the tempo being too fast for the first 1000 and the track being a soft 5 which really isn’t suited for our Scoots.

Ali’s Jab started in the Open 950 with Wanderson D’Avila in the saddle. Some gear change for the first time saw Moon travel well to run home 4th behind a really good runner Smart Image.

Inching Closer resumed after a small break in the stables to run in the Open 950 run home 5th behind Ali’s Jab. Lauren Guernier rode the old horse a treat as he stormed home, obviously this trip is way too short for him but a great start back.

Late update from 29/05/25 Cairns

Wong Way was saddled up for the 1500mt BM58 being steered by Gabby Semmens. What a gallant run by the little man behind the winner who led the field the whole way by nearly 10L at some stages, Scooter brought the rest of the field into the race to strongly finish 3rd. We were so proud of this boy he showed guts and determination.

We have one air conditioned room for rent. Includes double bed (linen if required), Built-in cupboard, bedside table, WiFi, Electricity and Water $230p/w. Requirements strictly are: clean, tidy, respectful, love of animals and must have a secure job. This is for one person only (if a couple we could discuss a price)
