One year ago, I opened the doors to Nordic Massage Cairns for the very first time — and what an incredible journey it’s been so far!

Starting my own business as a Remedial Massage Therapist has been a long-held dream, and I’m so proud of everything achieved this first year.

: The Levator labii superioris alaeque nasi (quite the name, right?) is the muscle responsible for the iconic Elvis snarl! It helps raise your upper lip and flare your nostrils, giving you that expression we all associate with The King of Rock n Roll! 😎

Though small, this muscle plays a significant role in non-verbal communication, helping convey emotions like surprise, disgust, or even intensity when concentrating. So, the next time you flash a slight grin or raise an eyebrow, this muscle might just be at work!

Fun fact: The Levator labii superioris alaeque nasi has the longest name of any human muscle, and its Latin translation means “lifter of both the upper lip and the wing of the nose"
