Welcome to the Team Annemieke!
Annemieke has recently joined the MCVH team all the way from South Africa, where she spent the last nine years working with amazing wildlife on a wilderness nature reserve.
Annemieke is a small animal & wildlife enthusiast who is passionate about providing quality and compassionate care to animals and their owners.
During her time off is kept busy with her family enjoying the beautiful surrounds that FNQ has to offer.

🐕FREE HEARTWORM TESTING - PROTECT YOUR PET🐶

Has your dog not been treated for heartworm or missed their dose? If so, then we recommend having your dog tested for heartworm and treated with PROHEART which gives them 12months protection and saves you having to worry about missing their monthly dose.

Thanks to Zoetis, your pet will receive FREE Heartworm Testing when your dog receives annual Proheart Injection. The test is done via a small blood sample in consult, with results in 10 minutes.

We sure have been busy lately! Over the past few weekends we have been out and about in the community. Dr Steve, Dr Ashleigh, Jenna ,Maddi and the beautiful Labrador Ivy attended the RSPCA Million paws walk to hand out heaps of goodies!
Maddi also attended and Judged the Palm Cove Dog Show pictured with winner Herman.
Dr Astrid also recently attended an Vetted the Australian National Budgerigar Show in cairns.

🎀 Chocolate can be fatal to dogs - darker chocolate being the most potent
🎀 Hot cross buns contain sultanas which can be fatal to dogs and make cats very sick!
🎀 Beware of all Lily species which are common this time of year they can be fatal for cats
🎀 Table foods like onions, garlic, macadamia nuts, avocados, fatty meats and bones should not be given to dogs
🎀 Beware of Easter toys and decorations that could be ingested
Its best to seek Veterinarian advice if your dog has consumed anything naughty over the easter break.
Please call 4057 6033 if your pet needs emergency care over Easter.

Lime - an 8 year old male green tree python recently came in to see Dr Farand for a top to tail health check, a full examination (including his dental check - with help from nurse Maddi) gave him a clean bill of health!
