Update 240221 - We are accepting new referrals, as always.

Current wait times for appointments depend on triage, Urgent cases, same week, Soon cases, within 4 weeks, Routine cases, up to 3 months.

Please note that surgery wait times are very minimal after consultation.

We are gradually opening our Ear, Nose and Throat service again in Cairns, with guidance from the Government and the Australian Society of ENT surgeons. Thank you for your patience during this time. Extra clinics are being arranged and our staff are working very hard to organise appointments. A COVID-19 questionnaire will be given to you on arrival and you may be asked to attend a testing facility prior to your appointment. This is for the safety of everybody.

The Australian society of Ear, Nose and Throat surgeons has advised that all elective ENT procedures and consultations should be cancelled with immediate effect. We are exposed to high levels of virus from the nose and throat and several ENT surgeons around the world have died or are seriously ill.
On national advice we have temporarily closed the practice to protect the public, our patients, staff and myself.
We will reopen when it is universally agreed that it is safe to do so. This decision has not been taken lightly and with careful, considered thought around the available evidence.

At Coral Sea ENT we've been very honoured to be involved with the largest ever single donation to the Cairns Hospital by local philanthropic couple and our good friends, Mr Alex and Mrs Violetta Sekler, to provide essential equipment to the tune of $650,000 to prepare for the fight against the COVID-19 virus in Cairns. An amazing contribution to the local community.

The tiny battery was stuck in her food pipe for weeks, affecting her ability to eat, drink, swallow and breathe.
