Speech pathology week is a week dedicated to raise awareness for those in our community with communication difficulties.

This years theme is ‘Communicating for Life’
This theme aims to highlight the vital role that speech pathologists play across the lifespan from birth to early language all the way to age care. 1 in 7 Australians will face a communication difficulty within their life and the 2023 theme emphasises the unique skills and qualities that certified practicing speech pathology members hold to support these Australians.

A great way to focus on language development is through PLAY 🤗 when children are engaged and having fun.

There are so many great toys out there that are inexpensive and that many families already have at home.

Here is a list of 5 of our favourite go-to toys we use at the clinic with our younger kiddos and some of the go-to vocabulary we can model during play with these toys. The possibilities are endless!

Unfortunately it’s not goodbye to masks just yet! 😷
According to the new guidelines, masks still need to be worn within healthcare settings when providing face to face therapy services. This only applies to people over the age of 12yrs of age. This rule is currently being enforced across all states in Australia.
