ADHD presents different challenges – including lack of working memory. By definition, working memory refers to our ability to focus our attention and process what we perceive and think, while enabling us to perform tasks such as interacting with others, comprehending circumstances and solving problems. Impaired working memory could result in difficulties planning necessary to organise materials, anticipate deadlines, demonstrate impulse control, and simultaneously coordinate actions.

How can we help our children?

· Visual aids and checklist

· Breaking down big tasks to smaller tasks

· Communicating our expectations

· Reducing clutters and distractions in the environment

· Adhering to a routine, as much as possible
