All oils are not created equal and a high percentage of commercially available oils are adulterated. Adulterated essential oils, especially those with synthetics which are chemically (isomeric) different, will have different actions in the body and emerging research suggests have higher risk of side effects.

A recent review of 51 commercial lavender essential oils found that 49% were adulterated, and this doesn't even consider the quality of the oils. Of the samples, 6% were lavandin, 14% contained synthetic compounds, and 29% were a mixture of synthetics and lavandin.

If a price seems too good to be true for an essential oil, it probably is. As consumers, we must not be tempted to by an inexpensive oil if we want good results.

Step 1 - Treat your food

Nuts, Seeds, Grains & Legumes –

Soak overnight in water with Relief or Digest Easy solution and then cook as required or dry using a dehydrator or oven set on low, or for nuts and seeds lightly coat with the Ginger Infused Oil and warm in the oven. (2 teaspoons of Relief or 8 teaspoons Digest Easy solution per kilogram of nuts, seeds, grains or legumes in enough water to cover)

One of my pet peeves is finding mould or mildew growing on my timber beaded necklaces after extended periods of rain. I've switched over to wearing silicone beaded jewellery because it doesn't support the growth of mould, fungus or bacteria. Not all silicone is created equally but the silicone beads used in the jewellery at Little Mountain Beads are free from BPA, PVC, lead, cadmium, phthalates and latex. Besides the fact that they don't support mould growth, I love that the dyes don't leech out into the skin, they don't have the cheap metals claps that leech who knows what into the skin as well as stain it green, if they're dropped they bounce instead of smash and they're washable so they don't end up faded and stained from sweat.

My Story

I've read countless testimonials and through all of my digging, Essential Oils kept popping up. Not just any essential oils mind you. They MUST be pure. They MUST be potent and produce consistent results in the body. Wellness encompasses so many areas of our life. If I can draw your attention to just one area firstly - reduction of exposure to toxins. The main reason I began using essential oils was to help reduce the amount of toxins in our home. There are over 900 toxic chemicals in beauty products alone! There are also a myriad of artificial fragrances in personal care products, scented candles, plug in air fresheners, cleaning products, car deodorisers etc. They are hormone disrupting and neurotoxic (toxic to the brain).

Once I began using essential oils in my home I discovered their diverse range of applications. I discovered they were effective natural solutions that could be used to support digestion, the respiratory & immune systems, the cardiovascular and endocrine systems (ie hormones), the skin, the musculoskeletal system and on top of all this, they could also support sleep and help balance mood and emotions. To say I was mind-blown is an understatement. I became empowered having natural solutions at my fingertips to meet the needs of my family and when something helps you so much you naturally want to share it with others.

For many years I have been focused on a lifestyle that promotes wellness. I have some underlying conditions that demand I treat my body with care and keep me focused on living a healthy life. Hemachromatosis, Adenomyosis, Liver Hemangioma, EDS hypermobility, gluten allergy which caused hashimotos auto-immune thyroid disorder as well as multiple nutrient deficiencies (including vitamin b12 which caused nerve damage throughout my body). I have lived all my life with chronic digestive issues as well as eczema and I was also beginning to suffer symptoms of psoriasis and Raynards. I use essential oils every day to support my body as a part of my healthy lifestyle. As a result of my lifestyle choices I am recovering, living well and feeling better than I have in many years. I’m passionate about helping others rediscover their health and vitality too.

I am very conservative when it comes to essential oil use - I respect their power and am an advocate for safe usage. There are some oils that shouldn’t be used when you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, some oils that are too strong for babies/toddlers (there are gentler alternatives), and some oils that are best avoided around your furry friends. There are some oils you should avoid if you’re on specific medications or have certain medical conditions. I am not a medical professional however I can help you find accurate information around these topics and would then direct you to speak with your healthcare practitioner to ensure essential oils are safe for you.

The easiest and safest ways to enjoy the benefits of dōTERRA essential oils are via aromatic and diluted topical use.
