I don't know about you, but when someone tells me to calm down when I'm feeling angry, frustrated or sad, it really doesn't help.
So when I catch myself saying it to my children I try to remember this.
Instead, show them empathy, love and understanding: "I would feel frustrated by that too", "I can see how sad that made you feel", "I get why you feel angry about that".
We know many parents out there are keen to do this program, but are struggling to access it due to difficulty getting to where the program is delivered or the cost is too high.
To help with both those factors, we are offering this program for $50 per session, ONLINE!
Unconditional love is separate from setting boundaries. We can still teach boundaries without withholding love.
You can spoil a child by giving them everything they want, by giving in to every tantrum, demand or request.
But you cannot spoil them with love.
We can still love them as we say no. We can still love them when they are angry, frustrated or jealous. We can still love them even when we feel disappointed by their behaviour.

Ocean Grace was founded by Michelle Bowyer and named after her families love of living near the ocean and its calming effect on their children, and after her daughter Grace whom she lost during her 5th month of pregnancy. Ocean Grace is her daughters legacy that teaches us to cherish our children, overcome our fears and follow our dreams.
