Neck-Related Headaches?
Backstroke's remedial massage can ease them. Working on the muscles at the top of your neck and under the base of your head reduces the pulling across the top of your head and scalp. Not only that, it can release pressure on very sensitive nerves that emerge in the area and supply the back of the scalp. Some of the nerves involved are with positional and movement monitoring of your head and neck. When the neck is stiff, the body becomes accustomed to it. However, sudden movements can overload the brain with information, leading to disorientation and dizziness. So, this area must be kept free from excessive tension.
If you are ready to take action on neck-related headaches, you are in the right place. Get in touch for help.

Parkinson’s - Massage helps relieve muscle tension and pain.

For those affected by the increased muscle tension and pain that come with it, remedial massage can provide relief.

Our remedial massage therapist, Natalie, has not only worked with patients at the clinic, but she also assisted them as a nurse (for well over 20 years) in both private caring practices in the UK and in Aged Care Nursing homes and Hospital Rehabilitation departments in Australia. With the combined experiences, she is very well aware of the issues, medications and challenges faced by Parkinson’s patients.

She is aware of how to assist a patient with movements in the clinic and on and off the table. Today, she pointed out to a patient that they can often be susceptible to extremes of temperature and considers this during her treatment.

Each patient has their own individual pain tolerance, and she monitors and adjusts the level of pressure that she applies. This comes from both asking for patient feedback, but also her highly developed sense of tension within the tissues, like muscles and tendons beneath her fingers. She listens to you.
