The fascination with yoga is that it is an enduring long range practice, something you can do through all stages of life and circumstances.
The appeal is that whilst it conditions the body and tones the muscles it engages the mind. This integration of body, mind and breath is known as yoga (or union).
In an Iyengar yoga practice students learn how to practice for example adho mukha savasana (downward facing dog pose) and how to place the hands and feet, work through the arms and legs to irrigate the spine and maintain the asana (or posture) with effortless effort. We are left feeling refreshed.
The class builds from week to week as students learn, progress and consolidate. Each week is different as students safely progress through a broad syllabus of asanas.
I have been teaching for over 25 years and Cambewarra Village Yoga has been in the School of Arts hall since 2019.
