Term 3, 2025 yoga classes start Tuesday 22nd and Thursday 24th July
Classes in the School of Arts hall are held weekly and follow the school terms:
Tuesdays 4.00pm - 5.30pm
Class level is Established Beginners - active people with previous body work will be suitable
Thursdays 6.10pm - 7.15pm
Class level is Open- new & returning to yoga
Yoga props are provided, but most students bring their own mat
Flyer attached
The fascination with yoga is that it is an enduring long range practice, something you can do through all stages of life and circumstances.
The appeal is that whilst it conditions the body and tones the muscles it engages the mind. This integration of body, mind and breath is known as yoga (or union).
In an Iyengar yoga practice students learn how to practice for example adho mukha savasana (downward facing dog pose) and how to place the hands and feet, work through the arms and legs to irrigate the spine and maintain the asana (or posture) with effortless effort. We are left feeling refreshed.
The class builds from week to week as students learn, progress and consolidate. Each week is different as students safely progress through a broad syllabus of asanas.
I have been teaching for over 25 years and Cambewarra Village Yoga has been in the School of Arts hall since 2019.

In class this week at Camby Village Yoga...
we are practising back bends. Those poses that strengthen the spinal muscles and increase flexibility to the spine.
This is a photo taken from my practice yesterday in viparita dandasana (supported back bend through a chair).
Working with an accreditated Iyengar Yoga Teacher importance is given to good technique, body alignment of the muscular-skeletal system so that you can practice deeply and safely.
In this set up a chair is used to increase the time spent in the asana to lengthen the spine and increase the flexibility to the upper thoracic.
It opens the chest, benefits stiff neck and shoulder muscles and improves the digestive system.
These are the some of the benefits of practising Iyengar Yoga and why it is considered a yoga practice for life. It feels so good. For information on classes in the hall, workshops and private classes, please be in touch iyengaryogawithjeanette@gmail.com

Cambewarra Village Yoga classes are held in the hall

Tuesdays 4-5.30pm
Class level is Established Beginners - active people with previous body work will be suitable

Thursdays 6.10-7.15pm
Class Level is Open - new & returning to yoga
