Regis Cranbourne celebrated World Chocolate Day with a celebration that brought together flavour, fun and shared memories.

Team members prepared a table filled with chocolates from a wide range of brands and varieties including dark, milk and white, with different cocoa percentages. Residents then joined the chocolate presentation and tasting session. Each person received a plate and sampled different chocolates while guessing the flavour, origin and type. The room was filled with conversation, laughter and plenty of sweet surprises.

Many residents expressed their appreciation, saying how much they enjoyed the experience and the presentation. The afternoon was a joyful example of how flavour and shared experiences can bring people together and create lasting memories.

Regis is thrilled to announce that we have entered into an agreement to acquire the entire shareholding of Rockpool RAC Holdings Pty Ltd. As a result, Regis will become the proud new owner of all four of Rockpool’s premium, high-quality residential aged care Homes in Queensland.

Consistent with Regis’ strategy to broaden our residential aged care footprint through the acquisition of premium Homes, this latest acquisition will increase Regis’ aged care portfolio to 72 Homes nationwide.

Regis Managing Director and CEO Dr Linda Mellors said, “We are excited to announce the acquisition of Rockpool, a highly regarded provider of residential aged care services in Queensland. This acquisition aligns with our strategy to broaden our residential aged care footprint through the acquisition of premium Homes. I commend the founders for establishing such a high-quality business. We look forward to welcoming Rockpool’s residents, families, employees and communities to Regis and we are committed to ensuring a smooth and supportive transition.”

A favourite activity for residents at Regis Lutwyche is welcoming students from nearby schools for intergenerational visits.

With Wooloowin State School and Kedron State High just a short walk away, these sessions bring laughter, conversation and connection into the Home. From jumbo bingo games to handmade blanket prizes, residents and students share meaningful moments that brighten everyone’s day.

Resident Val shared, “It was the best activity, and I loved spending time with the kids. They were so polite, and I am looking forward to seeing them again.”

Residents from Regis Sandgate Lucinda recently participated in the Redcliffe A H & I Society’s annual art show, entering a new category created for people living in aged care. From watercolour paintings to Diamond Dot Art, their work was proudly displayed, and several residents were awarded ribbons for their efforts.

Pam, a newcomer to Diamond Dot Art, received a Highly Commended award for her “Baby Kittens” piece, created with guidance from fellow resident Sue. Sue and Victor also earned second place ribbons in their respective categories.

“I’ve never won anything in my life,” said Sue. “I do this because I love it. I love watching the Dot Art come to life. It makes me happy.”
