Parkinson’s disease is a progressive condition, meaning symptoms can change over time.
While exercise can’t stop the disease, it can play a powerful role in managing symptoms.

Exercise Physiology helps target strength, balance, coordination, posture, and movement confidence — all key areas affected by Parkinson’s.
The goal isn’t perfection, it’s maintaining function, independence, and quality of life for as long as possible.

Rehabilitation isn’t just about lifting weights or counting reps.

As Exercise Physiologists, a big part of our job happens outside the exercise itself — education, confidence-building, problem-solving, and meeting people where they’re at on any given day.

Some days progress looks like moving better.
Other days it looks like learning how to manage pain, rebuild trust in your body, or simply showing up.

One movement. So many benefits.

The sled push is a staple in Exercise Physiology because it develops strength, coordination, and postural control all at once — without unnecessary impact.

It challenges the lower body, engages the core, reinforces strong movement patterns, and builds real-world capacity in a safe, scalable way.
Simple. Functional. Effective at every age.

Huge shout-out to Racquel for jumping into the Active Ageing group class🎉💪

Starting something new can feel intimidating, but she stepped in with a smile, gave it her all, and absolutely crushed it. The whole crew was buzzing watching her smash her first session!

Racquel — we’re so proud of you. Welcome to the chaos, the laughter, and the best kind of soreness. 😉🔥
Can’t wait to see you grow, get stronger, and keep showing up like the legend you are!

One of the best parts of being an Exercise Physiologist is getting to build real, genuine connections — and this legend is definitely a favourite. 😄💪

Every session is about celebrating wins, sharing laughs, and enjoying progress, big or small. And trust us… there are plenty of laughs.

This is what makes the job so meaningful — helping someone move better, feel stronger, and enjoy every session along the way.

You know it’s going to be a good session when your shirt matches the workout theme.
Coincidence? Absolutely not. It’s called professional coordination. 😎🔥

Because if you can’t control the workout… at least you can control the outfit. 😂💪

Walking is great… but it’s not enough. 🚶♂️💨💪

Yes, walking keeps your heart healthy and helps with general movement. But as we age, maintaining strength becomes just as important as maintaining endurance. Without it, everyday tasks — like getting up from a chair, carrying groceries, or climbing stairs — become harder, and the risk of injury and falls increases.

Strength training helps us:
• Build and maintain muscle mass
• Protect joints and bones
• Improve balance and stability
• Boost energy and confidence in daily life
• Preserve independence for longer

Think of walking as cardio for your heart, and strength training as insurance for your body. 🏋️♀️

A well-rounded routine keeps you moving, strong, and independent — no matter your age. 🙌🔥

Posture isn’t just about standing tall — it’s about staying strong and independent as we age. 💪✨

As we get older, it’s common for shoulders to round, spines to slump, and everyday movement to feel a little harder. Poor posture doesn’t just look uncomfortable — it affects balance, breathing, joint health, and how easily we move through life.

Strengthening the back, shoulders, and core can help:
• Reduce aches and stiffness
• Improve balance and stability
• Make daily activities like reaching, lifting, and bending easier
• Keep you moving confidently and safely

Good posture is functional strength in action.
A few minutes of the right exercises each day keeps you upright, strong, and moving well for years to come. 🙌

If your hair isn’t getting blown back on the air bike… are you even pedalling? 😆💨🔥

The air bike has no chill.
It doesn’t care about your hairstyle, your dignity, or the fact you brushed your hair 3 minutes before class.

It WILL turn you into a wind tunnel model — whether you like it or not.

But that’s why we love it.
