🐝 Bees for Matilda

As Matilda is laid to rest today, and in the days ahead as other victims are farewelled, families, friends and communities are left forever changed.

The bees shared in Matilda’s memory have become a gentle symbol of the love, innocence and light she brought into the world — small yet meaningful reminders of a life that will not be forgotten, and of the connection and care found in community.

As these farewells continue, we hold those families and friends close in our hearts, surrounding them with compassion, care and quiet remembrance.

Our hearts are heavy following the tragic events at Bondi.

We hold close all those affected — the families and loved ones grieving unimaginable loss, those who were injured, and the wider community hurting at this time.

We acknowledge that the ripple effects of moments like these reach far beyond what is seen, touching the lives of many, including those who witnessed something no one should ever have to experience.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the first responders for their selfless service and dedication, and we keep all those touched by these events close in our thoughts.

We also stand in solidarity with the Jewish community, offering our love, compassion and support during this incredibly difficult time.

In moments like this, we are reminded of the importance of community, kindness and holding one another close. 🤍

Buddy the Elf certainly made the most of his little stay with the Kenneally’s team!

• He made quite the entrance… by making a mess & stealing Erin’s Red Bull!

• He assisted Gerald and the team at Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park — even helping the concierge team prepare for the service.

• Gerald shouted him lunch, which he was VERY happy about.

• Buddy joined us for our Christmas Memorial Service and helped get everything ready before families arrived.

• No sneaking out of work either… he answered phones, scanned documents, replied to a few emails, and even attempted a cheeky “Elfie”!

We have to admit — he was pretty well-behaved!
A big thank you to Statewide Mortuary Transfers Pty Ltd for letting Buddy visit us. We hope he’s just as good for the next funeral director he drops in on!
