Did you know that doing something creative each day may help you live a longer, healthier life? 💜💚💜

A 2018 study published in the Journal of Positive Psychology found that people who engage in some kind of creative activity each day experience positive effects on their neurological and psychological functioning. This includes improvements in cognitive flexibility and executive functions, enhanced memory and neuroplasticity, and increased self-esteem and confidence.

Other studies have demonstrated a link between regular creative activities and stress reduction, lower rates of depression and anxiety, and a decreased risk of age-related cognitive decline (such as memory loss or dementia), likely related to the growth of new neurons and better brain health.

In short, being creative will increase your feelings of happiness, life satisfaction, and overall well-being.

So, what kind of activities can you do to achieve this?

These benefits come from regular participation in any form of creativity, including:

• Listening to music, playing an instrument or singing, dance, and drama
• Journaling, creative writing, poetry, and storytelling
• Cooking, gardening, puzzle-solving, and learning a new language
• Painting, drawing, sculpting, pottery, and crafting.

Or you could enter The ‘New’ WILMA Art Competition...
