You may be eligible for a Medicare-covered lung cancer screening through the National Lung Cancer Screening Program, even if you have no symptoms.

The program uses a low-dose CT scan to detect early signs of lung cancer when it’s most treatable.

She gained further expertise working at a sexual health clinic in South West Sydney. Dr. Yam offers sexual health checks, including STI screening and management and PrEP. 🙂 Have you met Dr Thu Le? Dr Thu grew up in Canberra but has found a second home in Southwest Sydney. She graduated from Western Sydney University and completed her junior doctor training at Liverpool and Fairfield Hospital, where her advocacy for her colleagues was recognised with the Junior Doctor of the Year award in 2022. Thu has furthered her love of education and mentoring by becoming a medical educator for GPs-in-training and continues this role as a fully qualified specialist GP. In her free time, she enjoys arts & crafts, baking, and fun runs.

She is interested in all areas of General Practice, especially children's and women's health. She is happy to offer cervical screening and Implanon insertion/removal.

Dr Thu welcomes new patients, who she encourages to book a long appointment to ensure she can cover your current concerns, medical background, and ensure your preventative care is up to date.

She completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in Pakistan, followed by an internship at one of Pakistan’s leading tertiary hospitals, where she gained extensive experience in general medicine, general surgery, paediatrics, and ophthalmology.

After moving to Australia Dr Fatima completed her AMC and continued her medical career, working for three years in prestigious tertiary hospitals across New South Wales. Her rotations at Wollongong Hospital included general medicine, emergency medicine, cardiology, geriatrics, general surgery, mental health, and rehabilitation. Dr Fatima further honed her expertise in Paediatrics and Obstetrics & Gynaecology during her tenure at Campbelltown Hospital, where she worked for over a year.
