For more than 75 years, Sunnyside House has provided a warm, respectful and home-like environment for older people in Camperdown. Established through the dedication and generosity of local residents, Sunnyside has continued to evolve to meet the changing needs of aged care while remaining proudly independent.

As part of the 75th anniversary celebrations, Sunnyside
Ambassador Dr John Menzies OAM and Board Chair Tony Dupleix have launched the Sunnyside House Winter Appeal — raising funds to refurbish and revitalize the residents’ lounge room, the heart of daily life within the home.

The project will include new purpose-designed furniture, improved storage, updated flooring and refreshed interiors to create a safer, more welcoming and functional space for residents, staff and families.

Every contribution will help create a warm and comfortable place for connection, care and community. Your support will make a real difference.

Sunnyside House, a small and welcoming not-for-profit aged care facility in regional Victoria, is looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Leisure and Lifestyle Assistant to join our team.
About the Role:
As a Leisure and Lifestyle Assistant, you’ll play a key role in enhancing the wellbeing of our residents through engaging and meaningful activities. You’ll support the planning and delivery of programs that encourage social interaction, creativity, movement, and fun.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in delivering group and one-on-one activities based on residents’ interests and abilities
• Support the emotional and social wellbeing of residents
• Help plan and set up activities and special events
• Work collaboratively with our care and support teams
• Contribute to creating a warm, inclusive, and homelike environment
About You:
• A genuine interest in working with older people
• Warm, friendly, and patient with great communication skills
• Creative, reliable, and a team player
• Certificate III in Leisure and Health or similar qualification (preferred)
• Previous experience in aged care or lifestyle programs (preferred but not essential)

We’re so excited to share some beautiful news from our Sunnyside family.

Our wonderful staff member Melissa has welcomed her second baby, Isla! Big sister Maya is absolutely thrilled in her new role, and we couldn’t be happier for them all.

While we’re loving having another Sunnyside baby to celebrate, we’re definitely missing Mel around here and can’t wait to have her back with us.

Kitchen Hand- Casual

Sunnyside House is a warm and welcoming residential aged care facility dedicated to providing high-quality care in a respectful and homely environment. We're currently looking for a reliable, flexible and enthusiastic Kitchen Hand to join our team on a casual basis.

About the Role:
As a Cleaner/Kitchen Hand , you'll play an important role in assisting with simple meal preparation, service and dishes. There is currently no minimum hours available.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assisting with simple meal preparation, meal service and post meal clean up
• Ensuring catering and infection control and safety standards are met
• Supporting a team environment with a positive and respectful attitude

About You:
• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen (appreciated but not essential)
• Good communication and time management skills
• A friendly and caring nature, with a genuine interest in working with older people
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work across a 7-day roster, including weekends as needed
• Current police clearance or willingness to obtain one
