A 50yo gentleman had to get amputated at the left knee because of out-of-control diabetes. Medications did NOT save him!
Doctors don’t care for you*
Medical System is broken, why? It's geared to diagnosis and treatment, but, BUT, the pharmaceuticals are not cures, 90% of the time they're patching up symptoms. Take for instance hypertension or high blood pressure, you take a tablet like Coversyl 5mg and it drops your pressure. But forget to take it or run out of supplies and what happens? Hypertension returns. Forget your Diabex 500mg for Type 2 diabetes, and the fasting sugar levels rise back. Pharmacy out of stock of your Lipitor 40mg for dyslipidaemia? Lipids spike up. This is the Big Pharma collusion to keep you on drugs forever, never curing your disease. Until one day, your disease has worsened, and the Coversyl is now upped to 8mg, Ezetrol is added to your Lipitor, and insulin injections or Ozempic is added to your diabetes regime.
Each drug brings with it a new set of potential adverse effects (side effects) often one page long. Thankfully a typical patient will experience one or two of these, to which the doctor will address with more medication. By the time you're aged 55 or above, your on at least five (5) pharmaceuticals.
When your disease has worsened to the point of no remediation, such was the case with the gentleman whom hired a wheelchair from my pharmacy for his diabetic father-in-law, we are dealing with numbness in the limbs - a great danger for trip hazards, burns, and skin infections. Unfortunately for him, it was gangrene and had to be amputated at the left knee. At this stage, the role of the doctor has passed onto the surgeon.
*Caveat, most doctors, nurse, pharmacists, surgeons etc... join the profession to CARE for the sick. They have a heart of GOLD. I myself am a pharmacist in and a product of the system
