It’s 8pm and I’m still here unpacking boxes and stacking shelves in our little warehouse — and honestly, I am SO happy doing it! Not everyone can say they draw their strength from the love of what they do, but I truly do!

I’m so proud of what Sofia and I have built together. To think that a dream of making a difference in people’s lives has grown into something real, something that touches individuals and families around the world… it's pretty incredible.

None of this would exist without my beautiful, special princess, Sofia. She is my purpose, my inspiration, and the heart behind it all. 💜✨

What an unforgettable day at this year's The Christmas Party Canberra!🎄✨

We were lucky enough to be stationed in Santa’s Toy Room, handing out Mimi blankets to so many excited little faces. It was extra special having my family there to help, along with Sofia’s wonderful friend, Nyssa Milligan who always makes these moments extra fun!

Sofia absolutely loved helping give out blankets, meeting Santa, saying hello to Hephner the Alpaca, and soaking up all the fun and magic of the day 🌟🎅🙌

Grateful for the smiles, the laughter, and the chance to be part of something so meaningful. Can’t wait for next year! 🎅🧸🦙💫

Sofia's Story 💗 A brand new gorgeous pattern that has just landed on our website! 🙌

We are so excited to finally show you something we have been working on for the past several months!! A brand-new Mimi blanket pattern called Sofia’s Story.

This pattern began with a beautiful, original artwork painted especially for Sofia by Australian Indigenous Artist, Maralma King. Seeing it come to life has been incredibly special.

The piece reflects Sofia’s life, her family, her journey with Rett Syndrome, and all her favourite colours. It’s bright, joyful, full of meaning — just like her. 💖

Right now, this new pattern is available in our soft winter Berber Fleece - the warmest, snuggliest blanket we have https://mimiblankets.com.au/collections/berber-fleece. In just a couple of weeks, it will also be available in the Waterproof Berber, followed by our other blanket styles and even scarves.

Sofia was in her standing frame yesterday helping me bake brownies when she said "jumper". It was getting chilly inside the house. Now putting a jumper on her whilst she is in the standing frame would mean that I would need to:

1. Take the heavy tray off
2. Tilt her back as I can't undo her support straps while she is standing (she can't hold herself up so she would fall forward without the support straps)
3. Then put the straps back on, put her back upright and heavy tray back on 🥴

INSTEAD I put her Mimi blanket on and it worked well! She was so happy! It was quick and easy and we could continue baking 😋😋
