🐴Equine Tissue Mobilisation Therapist
🐴Equine Photonic (Red light) Therapist.
I have spent most of my working career working in childcare, disability support, currently as a community care worker. I have a natural way with people of all ages and abilities. I come highly recommended by all those who have had me as a support/community care worker. I go above and beyond, the call of duty offering high quality services. I am often personally requested by my human clients.
I love working with people! I love assisting others and seeing those around me light up with a smile. 🥰🌈😁
I have worked at a racing stable in Mornington Peninsula and have volunteered at many riding schools here in Canberra throughout my high school years. I even started a qualification in vet nursing. I completed my first semester and received a statement of attainment in animal companionship. I had the option to continue but decided as vet nursing wasn't for me. I loved working with the animals, but had not quite found my calling, so I did not continue with my studies in this field.
It's funny how the things you are looking for come into your life in unexpected ways and turn into the biggest blessing and the very thing you are looking for!
Jasper come into my life back in 2013. This beautiful, loving, one of a kind, thoroughbred touched my heart from the moment I met him. He has continued to bless me with his joy, love and unique personality! He is like no other horse I have ever met before! The love I have for this horse goes beyond words. Each day the love I have for him grows. Jasper was the reason I decided to become a qualified equine massage therapist.
Long story short, he had a puncture wound injury to his fetlock. The injury missed all tendons and ligaments in his fetlock, but he contracted a serious tendon sheath infection despite medical treatment and antibiotics. He required lifesaving surgery to flush out the infection. The surgery saved his life, but meant we had a long road to recovery.
This is where vets recommend things like rehab reconditioning programs and equine massage.
I had already known about equine massage before Jasper became injured and was regularly getting him massaged as I saw the benefits. What I saw after the surgery was how much it has helped him progress in his rehabilitation program as well as his overall wellbeing.
As I had many therapists coming out to treat my boy, I would ask multiple questions on what they were doing and what I could do to assist my horse. Often, they would suggest looking into an equine massage qualification. It took many years of hearing this before I stumbled onto Equestricare's website on a day of researching, and before I knew it, I was enrolled in not one, but three equine qualifications - Equine sports massage therapy, tissue mobilisation, photonic (red light)!!!! I loved the sound of all three and thought that it would assist my horse!
Although I did the qualifications to better support my horse's own rehab and general muscle health, I found that I loved massaging! I loved being with the horse's! I loved speaking to the owners! I get the best of both worlds, my love of working with horses and people are finally able to merge!
They great thing is that the vets have cleared Jasper to be ridden again!! Woohoo! I now get to enjoy being in the saddle again, indulge Jasper in regular massage treatments, love and yummy treats! I am also blessed with massaging and assisting all my wonder horse clients and chat to their lovely owners!!
Thank you to all my lovely clients for making my dreams come true! I truly have found a career that lights up my heart and soul!! 🥰🐴🌈🐎🥰🥳
