Here is how I healed my relationships between the scale, myself and food and now teaching my clients to do the same.
The scale is just a scale, it just spits out a variable number each time and does not factor in anything! When you last ate, how much muscle you’re growing, the amount of sleep you’ve had, how much stress you’re under, did you even drink water today?, if you’ve trained lately, what stage of your cycle you’re at?
Everything I’ve just listed above is what you should be looking at when it comes to looking at metrics, the weight shown on the scales is just one minor form of measurement and should be looked at from a data point of view and not an emotional one. Yes I know easier said than done!
I like to encourage my clients to move away from using the scales to start with and get them to focus on:
✅performance in the gym
✅food quality and quantity
✅improving their sleep
✅managing their stress
✅celebrating their wins even the small ones
✅Seeing themselves in a positive light.
I know it’s hard but why are we letting a battery operated object that we stand on dictate how we feel, how we see ourselves, how we treat ourselves and even more importantly how we talk to ourselves.
If we don’t let the scales dictate how we treat and speak to our loved ones then why do we do it to ourselves?
It’s just a number sis! You’re more then just numbers on the scale, the size of clothing you are, or numbers on a tape measure!
