We often dismiss abuse as a cultural or social norm or a means to protect social status, mainly when people with power or social status are involved. We ignore its deep-rooted harm. It’s time to recognise abuse it is —a public health crisis. Just like any other health issue, it demands urgent attention, intervention, and systemic change and awareness of everyday life.
