Were you injured at work, and can’t seem to get out of pain and back to your life? Although everyone's pain journey is different, there are some common signposts that many people in pain experience. Does any of this sound familiar to you?
• You have seen multiple health professionals. Some believe you, some don't. No one can give you a useful answer on WHAT TO DO.
• You have received multiple diagnoses or NO diagnosis.
• You have been told "your pain is in your head".
You are not alone. These are all common experiences for people dealing with chronic pain. This usually gets even trickier to navigate when you are trying to find answers while your treatment is being managed through the work cover insurance system.
The BOOST Recovery Program is an award-winning* pain recovery program that is fully customised to each participant. We work directly with your claims team and treating professionals to coordinate your care, and smooth out your path to recovery. You will work 1:1 with an expert injury recovery coach to help you to understand your pain, how your current treatments fit together, and how to take control of your recovery.

"We can be lonely in a room full of people... if we feel like we don't know them or we don't trust them or feel like these aren't my kind of people. That experience, it turns out, is what most powerfully relates to differences in gene expression in white blood cells.”
Professor Steve Cole
Social lives, genes and our health, All in the Mind, Radio National

💡How to operationalise this science
Take a proactive step towards enhancing your social connections and well-being. Reach out to a friend or loved one today and plan a simple catch-up for this week. Whether it's sharing a cup of tea, picking up the phone or taking a leisurely stroll in a familiar setting, these small moments of connection can have a profound impact on your health. 💫

Having a sense of meaning in life can protect against chronic disease—but those who lack social connection are more prone to ill health. We talk with Steve Cole about social genomics.

Operationalise the Science
Try pairing eye contact with a smile. Notice how it feels.
If you get a genuine smile in return you'll be boosting your brain chemistry with happy hormones.
Then see what it feels like to make eye contact with no smile. Not so good, huh?
Happy, smiley day!
