I left today’s training so relaxed…. The Apple Watch data backs me up on this! A 10 point drop in av HR compared to yesterday’s session 🤯

Restorative Yoga is a wonderful antidote to the cultural expectations to do more, produce more and busyness being seen as a badge of honour. The physical poses are held for long periods of time with the body supported with props so the body is supported externally, so the muscles can let go and relax. The breath and gravity help in this process.

A beautiful question was asked that I think relates so well to life, not just to restorative yoga - Do you need support or space?

I’m spending the next five days in Restorative Yoga Teacher Training. This is the second time I’ve done this training, I learnt so much professionally and personally I couldn’t NOT do it again.

There are some states that we cannot get to through talking. Both conscious connected breathwork and restorative yoga are powerful methods to change your physiological state. It’s a very different experience talking about relaxation Vs creating the space to make your body as comfortable as it can be so there is no strain or effort and then cultivating the state of rest.

Each day we end with a practice and it is DIVINE! I recored my HR during the session and will compare with the 5th session. What do you expect will happen to my average HR after five days??

Finishing off the long weekend with some tending to my body.
