Defence Health Claiming Issue – Update

We’re currently seeing some Defence Health claims decline when processed in-clinic. We’ve been advised this is due to a known internal Defence Health issue relating to their provider records. They’re working on a fix, however there’s no confirmed timeframe at this stage.

In the meantime, some claims may need to be submitted manually.
✅ After your appointment, we can provide an itemised invoice/receipt so you can claim directly with Defence Health.

Everything appears to be working correctly on our end. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the practice.

Update: Our Bupa claiming now appears to be working normally. 😀

A few quick updates for today –

1. Some Bupa online systems are playing up this morning, so extras claims for some Bupa members might not go through straight away as they normally would.

If you’re with Bupa and your claim won’t process:
✅ No need to worry — you can usually submit your claim later once their systems are back online
✅ Hang on to your receipt/invoice (and if you misplace it, we can re-send a copy to you)

In the meantime feel free to go ahead and book as normal — we’ll help sort out the admin side afterwards and hopefully this is working well again shortly.

2. Please also note we’ll be closed on the Monday 26th January of this upcoming long weekend.

There are still limited appointments available for today and tomorrow, so if you’re needing some help, be sure to book in before the break. Otherwise, from our team we hope you have a lovely weekend!

Heads up from the ACT emergency services - smoke from fires interstate is coming across to the ACT. Take care of yourselves and stay indoors if you are affected by smoke and/or have respiratory issues.

Heads up Canberra, smoke from a major bushfire burning near the VIC/NSW border is approaching the ACT. 🔥💨

There are currently no active fires impacting the Canberra region. Bushfires in the Namadgi National Park earlier in the week are at patrol status and not producing any smoke.

Individuals with respiratory conditions, or those affected by smoke, are advised to remain indoors and close windows until the situation clears.

Call Triple-Zero (000) if you see an unattended fire, or in a life-threatening emergency.

The Christmas season is a busy time for everyone, and our team is working hard to look after our community as best as we can. We understand it can also be a stressful time.

We kindly ask everyone to be patient and respectful with our staff during this period.

As we head toward the Christmas period, we want to let everyone know that while we currently have availability for new chiropractic patients, these spots are limited. With our upcoming clinic closure over the Christmas break, we won’t be taking on urgent or acute new cases in the final days of the year, as they often require multiple visits and ongoing support that we can’t provide during the shutdown.

If you’re experiencing pain or considering starting chiropractic care before the end of the year, we encourage you to book ahead so we can look after you properly.
